This caught me by surprise, Steve, but it sounds like you've made a decision you're happy with and confident in. I'm excited to see where Operation Sports goes from this point forward. Hopefully it becomes even bigger than you imagined.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
To say that I'm surprised/shocked would be an understatement. I never thought I would see the day that Operation Sports would become something else, even if the name is staying.
But it sounds like this decision is what is best for the site and all parties involved. And to hear/read that nothing is really changing in the daily activities really helps ease any worries about the change.
Thank you Steve for everything you've done. I look forward to Operation Sports at the next level.

Just kidding. As someone who has lurked for 10 plus years commenting time to time congrats on the journey. Thank you for all you have done to grow this.
Crap...I'm gonna have to put on a suit and tie when I come posting in the forums now
Seriously though, this must've been one of the toughest decisions you've had to make. I know on the sports gaming end of things this site has always had great credibility and a strong reputation among the industry folks. This next step will allow you to expand and become even more of a strong and trusted voice in the sports gaming and now Esports gaming world.
Congrats and thank you very very much for these 20 years of blood sweat and tears.

I have been a member here since 2006 when I randomly stumbled across this site looking for Madden information. Since signing up, I check this site nearly daily for all of my gaming information and updates. Over the past 12 years, I do not think there is any site I have spent more time visiting than OS.
Steve- All I can say is THANK YOU for your commitment to this site and the gaming community as a whole. I look forward to the next chapter and growth for Operation Sports.
Wow! Not sure if I should be sad or happy but congrats on the deal. I've been on this site since 98 and found very useful information both gaming and non-gaming. Sports related or non-sports related. I hope much doesn't change and this is just another phase in O.S. development.
Once again, congrats!

Thanks for everything Steve. For the past 15 years, OperationSports has been my home page. I don't see that changing any time soon.
Keep on pushing ahead!
Congratulations!! I love the OS and what it has meant to the sports gaming community since forever. I went from being a college student reading OS, to now being a husband, and a father, who reads the OS with my son lol. I'm eager to see the growth ahead and I hope I can get back to writing some more blog posts in the future.

250k is no joke, I think everyone here would have done the same. I've been a member since '03 and had been visiting the site frequently before becoming a member. I don't post with any regularity, but I visit the site daily. Congrats and good luck.
As a 44 year old gamer who has spent many nights on these forums (mostly when we had college football and basketball games) I appreciate all you did for the community. A place where old dads could still geek out and try sliders and rosters to make there games "more real". I hope with the change the community remains and your "baby" grows into something you never imagined possible...in a good way.
