Is this year ridiculously hard for anyone else?

I've been an avid 2K player since forever and this year is ridiculously hard. Every shot is contested regardless how far the defender is. I cant get past the on ball defender ever. And it seems the CPU just catches fire and then the game is over. Anyone else having this issue?

I am having a hard time enjoying the game on default sliders this year. All star I find too easy to score, superstar both me and the computer are shooting ~55-60%. So its hard but hard for a different reason than what you are saying.

I play as Boston as well for what its worth

Well the contest thing is a whole other story. They changed it and now even role players are contesting like elite defenders smh. Its ridiculous tbh. But as far as how hard the game is, depends on the difficulty you're playing on. Anything above all-star is cheeze by the CPU imo. They just inflate the CPU's sliders and deflate your's. I find all-star with a few slider tweaks the best and most enjoyabe.

It's not just you. They took a step backwards in CPU defense, especially on the ball. Every defender will crowd every ball handler as soon as they pass half court.

Sliders can help to some extent, but only if you're not playing MyTeam/My Career.

It's definitely challenging this year, I used to play on superstar but this year allstar is better for me.

I win some and lose some and don't always feel cheated.

What kills me is the CPU abuses dribbling into the congested paint (without losing the ball) until they score.

I use sliders to make it more realistic and reduce the game flaws.

CPU PIP is a crazy and the lack of paint collision is extremely lacking.

These...i've been messing around with the ball security slider to see if I can make it more realistic to where they can loose the ball if they abuse this. Cuz its crazy how the CPU can just do that at will. Yet you the user does that and you're guaranteed to loose the ball or have to pick up dribble. Also been messing around with their inside shot success and contact shot success sliders cuz they almost seem unstoppable most times when they get under the rim. Little by little i'm finding better balance.

My only tip for is to slow down and take your time
Dont always sprint up.the court or sprint when trying to do everything
For example, start with a slow dribble then do a quick dribble move to get past your opponent
Be patient on offense and let things develop; watch your teammates and look for opportunities
If you are about to shoot a shot to be contested, move the ball around work for a better shot
Use pick and roll to get free for a good shot

The game forces you to actually play basketball, which is what alot of gamers of this game arent used to.
