What does striking speed actually do?

Having been curious about the effect of attributes and how much of a bearing they actually have on fighter performance, one attribute was striking speed, which the effects of it seem to be bit of an enigma (like accuracy).

Using a couple of created fighters, I decided to try and see the difference of striking speed myself. Giving one of them the bare minimum stat value (30) and the other, maximum (100).

Taking the discrepancy into account, I'd expect the difference in striking speed to be NIGHT AND DAY. But that simply wasn't the case and I find the role striking speed plays to be very suspect.

In the below example, both fighters are essentially just trading strikes though often out of sync. However, when they are in sync, the both seem to land at the same time.

So to conclude, if striking speed does have any effect. Perhaps it only has a small effect on execution or recovery frames, if any effect at all.

Re: What does striking speed actually do?

Try it on forward moving strikes

The start up difference will likely be significant

Stationary hard combos are pretty fast for everyone tho

Maybe it isn't perceptible in scenarios like this, but you can definitely FEEL the difference when fighting a Conor with Ross Pearson or another similar match up. At higher levels of play, the speed difference is felt even as Holloway vs. Conor.

As previously stated, forward moving strikes have a massive speed penalty based on stats.

Does speed matter when the combo system speed boosts everything anyways?

Great points but shouldnt it? Shouldnt speed be the speed of the strike, stationary or not?

That is my concern aswell, I should've shown the difference between moving strikes in my clip. But I don't see why striking speed shouldn't affect the velocity of planted strikes all things considered.
