Customize Management Styles

I have been waiting and hoping they would implement a feature like this as I frequently like to simulate games and I would love to be able to customize how the team is managed. Some examples of this below:

Base stealing - I want to select who has the 'green light' to steal. I want to turn off stealing 3rd attempts. I want to decide which situations to hit n run in.

Bunting / Small ball - I want to select in which situations and which players I would play small ball.

Manager hook - I want to select how much leeway my starter has.

Reliever usage - I want to be able to decide which relievers are used in which situation and how many batters they should face. At what pitch count should they be removed.

I'd also like to see the managers in the game come with pre-determined style with the option to make changes to their style or maybe certain managers you can influence their styles where others you cant.

There are other things too, just cant think of them now but you all get the gist of this.

Have you tried Quick Manage?

You have full hands on to manage your team while quickly simulating a game.

This is what I use for minor league games and it only takes maybe 5 minutes to get through a game.

Yeah I have tried quick manage but it is really lackluster. I'd like the managers to mean something more than just +2 speed or whatever attribute boost they have.

Honestly, teams need personalities before managers need personalities. A lot of the problems with the games AI comes from the fact that in the games eyes, all teams are the same, the only thing different is their budget, which is simply decided by how much their payroll is at the beginning of the game.

So the Rays and the Yankees are the same, they both try and win the same way, build teams the same way, go after the same players, which leads to terrible AI decisions. Make teams different and you instantly make the franchise universe more realistic and interesting.

If they sorted teams out and gave them ratings, then that would be a great base to then make managers who had personalities as well and make it more likely for teams to hire managers with similar goals to them.

It already exists in franchise. It's called manage mode.

It should exist in the form of Coach Tendency Sliders. All other major sports franchises have had this for decades.
