Best Loot Based Games

I have The Division and Assassin’s Creed: Origins. What are some other loot based games that you guys would recommend or consider “must play”?

I’ve tried Diablo and, though fun, I feel like games like the ones I mentioned above have more meaningful grinding.

Borderlands 2 is older, but still holds up decently with a lot of people playing on PC. Path of Exile and Torchlight II are also good games, but they're in the Diablo vein.

Diablo 2 for sure (worlds better than 3)

If you're ok with single player games I'd recommend Divinity Original Sin

I know people who really enjoy Warframe

Tom Clancy the Division is another good on.

A number of MMO's would also fit this category, but not sure if that's what you're looking for.

I played Borderlands some last year. The loot aspect was great but the art style got old. As for the others, yeah they’re kind of in the same vein as Diablo so initially, I’ll have to pass.

I’m playing the division but I’m not a HUGE fan of the online piece because it makes it so I can’t suspend my session until later. I’ve played Divinity but I don’t know that I’d classify it as a loot based game. See above thoughts on Diablo.

Soon to be The Division 2 followed by AC Odyssey, AC Origins and The Division 1 for me. All in with The Division 2 and loved all three other games.

I’ve got my eye on The Division 2 and Odyssey. I didn’t know I liked loot based games until I played one where the grind didn’t feel quite like a grind. Since learning some things in Origins I’m actually progressing really well in The Division 1. Just hit level 6 after saving Dr. Kendall and getting the medical wing of the base up and running.

Yeah I’m REALLY early on. Plan to get some more in after our son goes to bed while my wife watches the Grammy’s!

Ah sorry just assumed you had played Diablo 3 which is very different than the 2nd one.

I'd also recommend monster hunter world.

Oh I did play Diablo III. Your post said Diablo II, I think.
