the most recent roster update by EA has several players still on I.R. including Le'Veon Bell, Ryan Shazier and others.

The mass majority of custom rosters include at one point or another one of EA's roster updates so there will always be a handful of players on I.R.

Just turn pre-existing injuries off

That helps when starting a franchise and some other modes. However it doesn’t help when you want to make changes to roster ahead of the season.
You can not release IR guys like Leveon Bell and put in free agency. In case your looking to start a season and see where he may go etc

That's so odd that you can't turn off pre-existing injuries in a sports game nowadays. Leave it to EA Sports, right?!
