Would you be fine with your MyPlayer being an archetype based on a real NBA player?

Would you rather have the system currently in place or the ability to work towards being any player rated 90 and under?

YES!!!!!!!

Do what the previous MLB the show games did in RTTS that allowed you to model your player after an MLB player. I think they removed that in MLB 19 though.

I'd love to see that in NBA 2K.

Current system is trash IMO. They definitely need to either revamp it altogether or remove archetypes completely. They've failed to balance the game since Archetypes were introduced in NBA 2k17.

Letting us create players like real nba stars may be fun, but that doesn’t balance the game. That would just cause everyone to pick the “do everything” build for their positions. PGs would effectively all be steph because he can do everything you need a PG to do. SGs all become Jordan. SFs all become KD or Lebron. Bigs all become shaq, Hakeem, or KAT. There’s be no incentive to pick anything else.

Real life is balanced by the fact that only so many of these legendary players are available. In the game, there is no scarcity of superstar players. Every team wants a KD but there’s only one, and the warriors have him. If every team could create a Jordan to put on the roster, they would. In the game, we can do just that.

The archetypes aren’t balanced right now but letting us mimic real life players doesn’t fix balance. It probably makes it worse.

Yup. Have like 20 current players and 20 legends where you can pick from.

That determines your height, weight, wingspan.

Their attributes become your attributes. So say if you pick Micheal Jordan, your mid range is 99 but your 3 is like 65. Your height is also 6'6. 190 pounds.

Badges are the same as that player as well. So if Jordan got defensive stopper on hall of fame, so can you once you earn the necessary requirements

I agree 100%. The community will find the best META and run with it.

I beg to differ. 2k16's ProAm was much more balanced than 17 and onward when everyone could make more do-it-all players. The only reason stretch bigs are as overpowered as they are now has a lot to do with every arch that isn't a defender having a sub-par shot contest rating and bad defensive ratings with bronze defensive badges(if any).

If the goal of MyCareer is to be an all-time great, then we need the option to be an all-time great. 2k has a player DNA feature already. Just plug that into MyCareer and correctly adjust progression systems.

If people are running MJ meta then you could just meet it with a Kawhi, Pippen, Lebron, Paul George type build. Evening the field more actually destroys meta. Because it becomes harder to make a build more effective than the others.

My only concern is that 2k won't properly scale actual player's styles. MJ shouldn't have deep range deadeye, Steph shouldn't have posterizer, etc.
