Madden throwing animation looks off.

I was looking at the last videos released for the video motion capture on madden 20 and i think that there arm is not doing the whole movement. It looks off.

Anyone feels the same? Specially the stand still throws.

Compared to this one, that the arm does the whole movement and it looks so much realistic.



This looks really unrealistic in the game. I'm not sure if is a limitation from EA engine or what is it.

it looks like the guys motion capturing the animations are "pushing" the ball not throwing it. They are short arming the passes shown and when taken in game to Rodger's animation it looks awful IMO.

Throwing animations have been really bad in Madden series for years.

Great point. That Brees video especially is horrible. Anyone notice the NFL Primetime music in the Madden mocap video?? Maybe that will be in the game this year. That would be sick

That music is from the YouTuber not EA.

Problem with Maddens animations are moving to fast & move at an unrealistic clip (normal speed). Look at how natural & realistic speed the Montana one is. Madden doesn't allow for the animations to breathe on normal speed. Way to hyper, forced, spastic & rushed movements. It's awful looking...

Spot on. IRL, you can literally see the preload, into **** back, into the peak, into the forward motion, into the release, into the follow through. In Madden, you see the **** back, into the forward motion, into the end of the follow through.

That was my first thought as well Mil. It looked crazy fast.

I went back and reviewed all the motions on .25 speed. I thought Mahommes capture looked OK, but Rodgers looked more like Brett Favre to me. Also, Breeze stands somewhat on his toes to gain height when he throws and I don't see that represented here. However, they did a decent job on showing the ball coming out with a higher trajectory.

Hopefully they cleaned up the direction of the ball leaving the hand or the direction of the hand. That's been a eyesore for to long. I know it's probably hard to accomplish, but couldn't they just get the 12 QBs to do the motion capture of the throwing animations at least.
