So, we know that prospect progression could be better. It is good enough, but it could be better. One major area that should be tuned more is the ages of players in Franchise mode drafts.
I made a simple formula to correct drafted player ages, based on their OVRs and potential ratings. The majority of drafted players should fall within ages 18 and 22, so I took that into account.
The formula is essntially:
Age Adjustment 1: Min(22,100-Potential)
Age Adjustment 2: Min(22, Overall/2)
So that, the fixed age is: average(AA1, AA1, AA2)
For example, if a player has a 60 OVR with an 83 potential, his fixed age will be 19.
If a player has a 45 OVR with a 99 potential, his fixed age will be 18 (raw prospect, needs seasoning in A ball).
If a player is a 65 OVR with a 70 potential, his fixed age will be 22. He could be a useful bench/utility option, played in college and wasn't good enough to be drafted sooner.
