Why no revamp pre-order?

I think all of us here are huge madden fans, why not change up the pre-order to attract
A. Hardcore NFL fans, give bonuses to attract people to stadium games (ie voucher for something
B. Franchise fans (early access to player decisions or new playbooks?)
C. Get to media attention with some interesting content it’s the NFL, how hard would it be every year to wow the media.
Do a raffle to go to a madden vip party with ex-players or something!

Seems that only giving ultimate team packs is a real missed opportunity. Been like this for 5-10 years

Re: Why no revamp pre-order?

I agree with you, but when you really look at it, EA probably isnt worried about the number of preorders seeing as they apparently set the record every year. Because the preorder numbers are so good, I highly doubt EA puts in the effort required to raise them.

So for your suggestions, what would the benefit for EA be?

The same amount of preorders they already have?

Huge amount of potential for EA
1. Mass media promotion if the pre-order has interesting aspect like say a super deluxe version that they can pitch as ultimate made. And nfl fan

2. More pre-order sales grabbing those casual fans and non ultimate team people

With the amount of hours I play madden every year just about anything related to franchise would get me the sale. 200$ easy for a head coach expansion

Re: Why no revamp pre-order?

Honestly, the people who preorder Madden or buy it during the August launch window in August - well before the NFL season begins - are the ones who do not need incentive to buy Madden every year anyway: hardcore Franchise or hardcore MUT players.

These two groups of fans already know all about the game and probably read all the blogs. They are going to buy the game no matter what because Franchise players want to start their new single-player / online leagues ASAP and MUT players want to start building their teams / chasing cool new cards ASAP.

EA is already incentivizing those two groups of users to pre-order with MUT packs and Franchise QB1 bonus abilities. MUT players probably need the incentive more anyway, because they probably invested money in their MUT 19 teams and aren't going to be easily parted with their OVR 99 team for a lesser team in the new game.

This is not me arguing against EA offering more, to be clear.

Re: Why no revamp pre-order?

I have absolutely zero interest in MUT and personally find it cheesy. What's worse is they broadcast competitions for that instead of real-time roster teams.

The preorder bonus always being MUT-inspired is very disappointing for me. I always use the code to see who it gives me day one just out of curiosity. After that I never even open the MUT menu.

How they get me is the early access. I love Madden. I preorder it every year and since they've added the early access I'm one of the suckers paying extra the last couple of years.

Luckily, atleast this time we get to pick our QB player styles for the Player Mode.
