Can X-Factor Ability to be acquired?

These questions revolve around franchise mode,

1.) can a player I draft be of X-Factor or SS ability? Will I know he is when I draft him?

2.) Can one of my current players acquire an X-Factor Zone or SS Ability? Say Baker Mayfield has a great year, can he acquire a certain X-Factor based on what he excelled in? Another way to look at this is how development worked last year, where players would go up or down in development during great or horrible seasons, does X Factor work the same way?

Yes, players can gain or lose abilities throughout their career based on performance.

I could be wrong but i thought i heard them say people wont be losing dev anymore until they reach a certain age, then they may lose due to that but not due to preformance.

That’s their dev traits, not their special abilities or whatever. Pretty sure they said players won’t regress their dev trait at all this year.

But their abilities are tied directly to their dev trait. So it would seem they can not lose their ability if they cant lose dev

No they’ve confirmed players can lose their abilities if they play horribly. Someone asked on stream if Aaron Rodgers for instance would lose his no INT ability if he threw a bunch of INTs game after game.

In Franchise, abilities are gated by dev trait and OVR threshold. To that end, I assume if an X-Factor player regresses beyond a certain point, his ability will get locked off until his reaches the OVR requirement again.

I want to know if X-Factor can be turned off in Franchise? Sorry if this has already been answered.
