Base Roster data is done along with one 10 year sim at default XP sliders (all 100%). EA's more spread out ratings base roster is a breath of fresh air. They really did a pretty good job of only having a few elites, a few more top tier guys, some solid pros, and then the rest. On paper I really like it. Which means I will try pretty hard to replicate that spread in my sims. Also I have to say EA is getting pretty good with the XP Sliders. Got some good stuff at default 100%. Now on to the data gathered so far:

QB's - To be honest this looks pretty good I think 100% might be just fine. Could drop it just a bit. I think somewhere between 94%-100% will be the sweet spot. I will try 94% on my next sim.

HB's - This one is also almost spot on at 100%. For my preference I think I'd give it just a few more percent but damn it's close. I'm thinking 106% on my next sim.

FB's - This is kind of a get what you want position. The NFL doesn't really utilize FB's anymore (at least not that much) and you can tell by EA's ratings on them. Default will give you a few 80-84 guys but mostly 75-79 guys. Do you want more elite FB's? Then we need to raise it. If you don't care then we can leave it. I will try 115% next sim just to see what results we get. When I post the final set I'll have an option for base roster FB's ratings or more elite FB ratings so you can choose.

WR's - Also very close. I think it's just a touch under where it should be. Would like 1-2 more elite players and think I could squeeze them ot with a few more percent up. 106% next.

TE's - Again another close one at default. Still light in my opinion but not by much. 110% for next sim.

T's - Here is the first one where 100% didn't get the job done very well. Not even one guy rated above 89. So with that we are making our first big jump from default and will go with 150% next sim.

G's - Basically the same as T's but not quite as bad. Going with 140% next sim.

C's - And the theme continues with C. This time not one guy rated above 84. 170% next sim.

DE's - Pretty solid here as well. No elites but it's close. 110% next sim.

DT's - So close. Too me it just needs to be a notch higher. 106% next sim.

OLB's - So I may have messed up here because I counted 48 more OLB's after simming then I did in the base roster. I'll have to check on that later. As far as the numbers go it's actually a little high I think. 14 guys rated above 84 compared to only 7 in the base roster. So for the first time so far I will try to tone this down. 94% next sim.

MLB's - Really solid but just a tad high IMO. 96% next sim.

CB's - This one sucks because we have on guy above 94 (awesome) but then 13 above 89 (not so awesome). Ideally I'd like to have only 4-6 guys in the 90-94 group. In total there are 60 players above 79 in the 10 year sim compared to only 45 in the base roster. So I need to tone this down without totally killing a chance for having elite CB's. 92% next sim.

FS's - I may have miss counted this one as well because base roster had 117 players and 10 year sim had 136. I will check. Anyways I will bump it up juat a tad. It's close and I also don't want to over inflate the 75-79 range. 106% next sim.

SS's - This needs a slight bump up. Nobody over 89. Hoping 110% will spread things out some.

K's/P's - I'm just going to leave this a default. I believe Madden keeps these ratings lower for two reasons. One so you don't pay and arm and a leg for a K and also so the are not all automatic.

So that's what I have so far. Counting manually sucks lol. Takes about 45min-1hour to record data from one sim. Also your brain starts to get foggy. I hope to get this next sim and data gathering done today and post results.

What is the overall philsophy in using these in a league with mostly CPU and a handful of users, knowing that the user will train for gold every week, while the CPU doesn't get gold training every week (to my knowledge, at least).

If you only have a few human players it will still be a solid upgrade over default. It keeps CPU teams progressing in a solid manner. I can't control human players and if they decide to do gold on training every time that will definitely be an advantage to them. But if they are going to do that regardless at least the CPU will be progressing the best they can.

After further review I will be doing 20 year sims as opposed to 10 year sims. Firstly because I want to purge the league of any real player and only have generated players left to collect data on. Secondly because it seriously only takes about 10 mins to sim 20 seasons!! That is so fast. It's incredible the increased sim times compared to just two years ago. Hope to have the first tweaked XP Slider sim data up in a bit.

Not sure if this will be helpful as you've already did a manual count of the base players, but Kennedy exported the base to excel. Perhaps it will be useful to see if any attributes need to be tweaked for custom draft classes. https://forums.operationsports.com/f...readsheet.html

To keep user teams from getting way more XP than CPU teams, everyone should simulate training to get bronze medals.

As usual I will be doing my best to translate these for 32 man CFM leagues. Looking forward to it and thanks for your work!

Last couple cycles our player development has been really on point. Tough but possible to have guys develop into 90+ OVR studs. Only a small handful of drafted players reached 95+. Our avg team OVR remained about 80 all cycle, other leagues by s4-s5 half the league would be 88+. Our highest rated team in a given season was typically 86-89 and it was tough to remain there more than a season or two.

· 20-year sim – Sim 1
This is my first sim with adjusted XP Sliders and my first 20-year sim. Had some real good results, some off ones, and some troubling trends. The worst is certain positions getting really clustered in the middle rating ranges between 75-65. Might not be able to fix those ones. Results will still be solid at the top end but just cluttered in the middle. I went super detailed on these so if they are too long my bad lol. Just want everyone to know what I’m thinking so if you guys have any ideas or insight, you’ll be well informed. With that info is below:

FYI - Splits refer to tiers starting at the top. So a 1/1/5/8 split means 1 player in the 99-95 tier, 1 player in the 94-90 tier, 5 players in the 89-85 tier, etc.

QB(94%)
· Base = 18 QBs >79 - 2/5/2/9 split
· Default 10-year sim = 23 QBs >79 - 4/2/4/13 split
· 20-year sim 94% = 20 QBs >79 - 0/6/6/8 split
Not too bad here. We have too many QBs in the 75-79 range (13) but not sure how to fix that. Some positions may not have the curve we’d like but it’ll still work. I love to see one or two 94+ guys mixed in here. I’m going to split this right in the middle and go 97% next sim.

HB(106%)
· Base = 38 HBs >79 – 1/7/11/19 split
· Default 10-year sim = 16 HBs >79 – 0/2/6/8 split
· 20-year sim 106% = 12 HBs >79 – 0/4/3/5 split
As you can see the base roster loves HBs. It’s much better then last year but do we really need 38 HBs over >79? I think that’s a bit much personally. However, having only 12 HBs >79 with a 0/4/3/5 split is enough for me. I need one to two elites. This will go up once more. Seeing as how we had a lower amount at 106% then 100% (because of high rated real players still leftover) this needs to go up more then usual. 120% next sim.

FB(115%)
· Base = 1 FBs >79 – 0/0/1/0 split
· Default 10-year sim = 2 FBs >79 – 0/0/0/2 split
· 20-year sim 115% = 5 FBs >79 – 0/0/0/5 split
Honestly this looks good to me. Talent level is higher overall then base by a good amount in the 79-70 range with 24 FBs at a 10/14 split compared to 8 FBs at a 3/5 split. But if you want more talent at this position this is the way to go. If not, I’d stick with 100%. Will run again at 115% but I think this is the first position to be finalized.

WR(106%)
· Base = 56 WRs >79 – 4/8/13/31 split
· Default 10-year sim = 42 WRs >79 – 1/7/10/24 split
· 20-year sim 106% = 41 WRs >79 – 1/8/10/22 split
Here we got almost the same result as the default sim, due again I’d imagine, to the fact real players were still in the league. Nothing crazy here. Just going to bump it up a bit. 120% for next sim.

TE(110%)
· Base = 26 TEs >79 – 1/3/10/12 split
· Default 10-year sim = 14 TEs >79 – 0/2/6/6 split
· 20-year sim 110% = 14 TEs >79 – 0/0/2/12 split
So that did basically nothing. Now again we will have some issues with certain positions when comparing to the 10-year sim. No big deal. It’ll right itself out soon enough. With that this needs a bigger boost the normal. We have lots of wiggle room here to with how the curve is playing out. 125% for the next sim.

OT(150%)
· Base = 25 OTs >79 – 1/3/10/12 split
· Default 10-year sim = 32 OTs >79 – 0/0/11/21 split
· 20-year sim 150% = 48 OTs >79 – 0/7/14/27 split
I had a feeling this would happen. Almost double the number of OTs >79 then default but none >94. They are getting clumped together. No one really jumps ahead individually. This has always been the issue with the OL because they all progress based on team stats and not individual stats like other position. Starters and backups are treated equal. So, where do we go from here? Do we bump it up to try to get an elite? Do we keep it here and just deal with the fact that we may never see a 95+ rated player? Do we lower it some to try to get the number of >79 players with just a few 90+ guys and probably no chance of ever seeing a 95+ player? I’m not sure. I’m inclined to leave it as is. In all there are 31 more players rated >74 then the base roster. That’s just about 1 extra for every team. I don’t like that. I will try lowering it to 140% and see what we get. 140% next sim.

OG(140%)
· Base = 20 OGs >79 – 1/2/7/10 split
· Default 10-year sim = 19 OGs >79 – 0/0/4/15 split
· 20-year sim 140% = 42 OGs >79 – 0/4/12/26 split
I could almost copy what I wrote for OT here. Really, we have the same issue. 35 more players rated >74 then the base roster. It just causes a bunch of mid-level players with no curve at all. Down some I guess but this may be the best we can get for now. 135% next sim.

C(170%)
· Base = 13 Cs >79 – 0/3/4/6 split
· Default 10-year sim = 9 Cs >79 – 0/0/0/9 split
· 20-year sim 170% = 14 Cs >79 – 1/1/5/7 split
I could get on board with this. One >94 and one >89. Solid. Maybe just a touch high. But then the 79-70 range rears its ugly head. 25 players compared to 12 in the base roster. So, to recap OL, we will not be able to get a good spread. To get a few really good players we will have to sacrifice and have way too much average talent in the league. No way around it that I can see. To keep in line with the other OL positions I will lower this a tad. 160% next sim.

DE(110%)
· Base = 39 DEs >79 – 2/3/18/16 split
· Default 10-year sim = 26 DEs >79 – 0/3/12/11 split
· 20-year sim 110% = 16 DEs >79 – 0/2/6/8 split
Too low for sure. Not even close really. Got some room to play here. 125% for next sim.

DT(106%)
· Base = 19 DTs >79 – 1/4/5/9 split
· Default 10-year sim = 18 DTs >79 – 0/2/6/10 split
· 20-year sim 106% = 21 DTs >79 – 0/3/7/11 split
This may be the spot. If we go too much higher, we risk having the same issue that the OL position has. 46 players rated in the 70-74 range compared to only 29 in the base roster. I will go with 110% next sim to try to find the sweet spot.

OLB(94%)
· Base = 25 OLBs >79 – 2/1/4/18 split
· Default 10-year sim = 25 OLBs >79 – 1/5/8/11 split
· 20-year sim 94% = 34 OLBs >79 – 0/4/12/18 split
Go figure I lower it by 6% and end up with 9 more players rated >79. The curve here isn’t too bad. I’d really like to see at least one elite player. Going back to 100% to see where we sit. This may be an issue (not bad necessarily) where the generated players at this position just come in better. We will see. 100% next sim.

MLB(96%)
· Base = 16 MLBs >79 – 2/2/3/9 split
· Default 10-year sim = 22 MLBs >79 – 2/3/4/13 split
· 20-year sim 94% = 20 MLBs >79 – 1/4/4/11 split
Really like this spot. Just a tad off from base roster. Will lower just a bit to see what kind of numbers we get but this could be final. Not much curve and we are getting clustered in the average range again but still pretty good. 92% for next sim.

CB(92%)
· Base = 45 CBs >79 – 1/5/15/24 split
· Default 10-year sim = 60 CBs >79 – 1/13/14/32 split
· 20-year sim 92% = 41 CBs >79 – 2/3/11/25 split
Wow. Players >79 look amazing. Real good. But again, we are getting clustered in the middle. Not as bad as some positions but it’s there. However, I think I want to up it a bit. Let’s go with 95% next sim.

FS(106%)
· Base = 16 FSs >79 – 1/1/5/9 split
· Default 10-year sim = 18 FSs >79 – 0/2/3/13 split
· 20-year sim 106% = 21 FSs >79 – 0/4/6/11 split
Well we are improving. This is close as well. Anyone of those two-tier guys could have moved to elite and we’d be fine. Another position where the middle is getting clogged again. I want to up it but might bring it back down later. Will try 110% next sim.

SS(110%)
· Base = 20 SSs >79 – 0/3/6/11 split
· Default 10-year sim = 18 SSs >79 – 0/0/5/13 split
· 20-year sim 110% = 25 SSs >79 – 1/4/8/12 split
I could live with this, but it does seem a tad high. 25 players >79 seems a bit much with another 19 in the 79-75 range. Compared to 20/15 in the base roster. 9 extra players don’t seem like much but in a one starter per team position that’s over a qtr. of the teams. I’ll lower just a bit. 105% for next sim.

Sticking with 100%. Not going to pay too much attention to it for the time being. Will look back at it later if needed.
