Re: TNK NHL 20 SLIDERS

The sliders above are for testing purposes and I used my set from last year as a baseline to get started.

So far the game feels/flows pretty good

Please provide feedback & results so we can begin refining these with any necessary adjustments

Re: TNK NHL 20 SLIDERS

If your slider set is meant to be realistic, you're almost there.

-Penalties are absurdly common.
-Shots are like 50 per team by the end of the game.

I notice when I play realistic hockey with more dumps, cycles, safe plays and selective with my shots - I get shot totals in the 30-38 range

When I play more wide open and run & gun type hockey - the shots end up getting a little high

These are early sliders and an easy fix if shot totals are too high is to knock down the period length....but I like to try to play as long of periods as possible without compromising the stats

Please feel free to post results and make any recommendations, even if you want to tweak on your own and test something - let me know

Re: TNK NHL 20 SLIDERS

Major update to the sliders in post #1 of the thread

* Dropped from Superstar to All-Star difficulty
* Several tweaks to various settings

I'm playing Boston (me) @ Florida (cpu) and will post a boxscore when finished

Re: TNK NHL 20 SLIDERS

Testing

Exhibition Game
Boston Bruins @ Florida Panthers

1st Period - Florida out-shot Boston 14-8 in the opening period but there was no scoring as Rask and Bobrovsky were both sharp through 20 minutes of play.

2nd Period - Florida opened the scoring 3:20 in to the 2nd period when they came through the neutral zone with speed and Trochek moved the puck to Hoffman in the high slot who fired a quick shot past Rask to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. The play was pretty even throughout the 2nd period with Boston generating some excellent chances but they could not get the puck past Bobrovsky and the score remained 1-0. The Panthers went on the powerplay when Marchand was called for slashing late in the period and Florida would cash in when Yandle prevented a clearing attempt by Carlo and played the puck down the wall to Evgeni Dadonov who snapped a wrist shot top corner from just below the faceoff dot to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead with 1:02 remaining in the period. The 2nd period would end with Florida leading 2-0 and holding a 28-23 edge in shots.

3rd Period - The Bruins would get their first PP opportunity when Hoffman was called for hooking with 17:08 to play. Boston had some good looks but could not cash in on the PP and the score remained 2-0. Florida would score a back breaker midway through the period when Jonathan Huberdeau collected a rebound on the door step and slid the puck past Rask who was down on the ice and couldn't dive across and it was 3-0 Panthers with 10:55 remaining. The Bruins would get shutout as Bobrovsky was stellar in the Florida net and the game would end with the Panthers winning by a score of 3-0

* Game played using the updated sliders in post #1 of thread

* Liking the feel/flow on All-Star better than Superstar difficulty

* These sliders are not final, still plenty of testing to do

* Please test and share feedback/results so we can fine tune things

* I think I'm going to fire up a testing franchise with another team besides the Bruins and do some testing. Won't start my Bruins franchise until the real NHL regular season gets going and the sliders are ready

Re: TNK NHL 20 SLIDERS

I fired up a Bruins Franchise for testing purposes

Franchise Testing

Game #1 of Season
Boston Bruins @ Dallas Stars

1st Period - The Bruins were shorthanded a couple times late in the period and another penalty would give Dallas a two man advantage and the Stars would cash in on the PP when Radulov scored off a rebound with 1:40 left in the period to make it 1-0. Boston answered in the closing seconds of the period when Torey Krug fired a long pass to Charlie Coyle who had a step on his defender and snapped off a shot that went right over the shoulder of Khudobin and under the bar for a gorgeous goal to tie the score 1-1. Dallas had a 15-12 edge in shots after the 1st period

2nd Period - The Bruins scored just 3:17 into the 2nd period when Brett Ritchie used his long reach to get the puck outside against a defender and passed back to Matt Grzelcyk who was trailing the play beyond the top of the circles and Grzelcyk ripped a one timer that rang in off the far post for the goal to put Boston up 2-1. Dallas answered back less than a minute later when Charlie McAvoy turned the puck over in his own end and Rask would deny Cogliano but the rebound went right to Radek Faksa who fired it into the open net to tie the score 2-2. The Stars scored again a couple minutes later when Seguin collected a loose puck in the offensive zone and found Radulov all alone in the slot for his 2nd goal of the game putting Dallas up 3-2. The score remained 3-2 until the closing seconds of the period as Boston had possession in the offensive zone and Patrice Bergeron came off the side boards and found Zdeno Chara up top and his slap shot beat Khudobin through a screen to tie the game 3-3 with 0:17 to play in the period. The 2nd period came to an end with the score all tied up 3-3 and the shots were 30-25 in favor of the Bruins

3rd Period - The 3rd period would begin with the score tied 3-3 and Boston would have the play the final 20 minutes with 5 D-men as Matt Grzelcyk was banged up late in the 2nd period and unable to come out for the 3rd period. The early stages of the 3rd period were pretty quiet as both teams were playing cautious and making smart, safe decisions with the puck. Dallas would get a big PP opportunity when Connor Clifton was whistled for holding with 9:58 remaining. The Bruins would kill off the Stars PP and get back to even strength with just under 8:00 to play. The Stars would get the go ahead goal when Sekera played the puck down low in the corner to Faksa who one touched a pass to Joe Pavelski in the high slot for a one timer to give Dallas a 3-2 lead with 6:32 remaining. The Bruins were pressing for the tying goal and generating lots of pressure as the clock ticked down and they would get Rask to the bench for the extra attacker in the final minute but Dallas would hang on for a 4-3 victory

* The Bruins drop a thriller 4-3 to open the season

* Shots were 41-38 in favor of Boston, I want to play a few more games but may reduce the period length by 1 minute which will help shave down the number of shots. I can live with high 30's and low 40's as long as the shots don't start approaching 50 every other game

* Radulov scored a pair of goals to lead the way for Dallas

* Boston got goals from Coyle, Grzelcyk and Chara

* Matt Grzelcyk was injured in the 2nd period for Boston and will be out for a week or so with a strained hamstring. Boston will call up 20 year old Urho Vaakanainen to take Grzelcyk spot ont he blue line

* Sliders are playing great....just need to play a stretch of games and fine tune at this point

Re: TNK NHL 20 SLIDERS

Thank you for all the testing your doing.
Did you originally have your Attribute Effects higher than 5, or am I thinking of someone else's?
Thank you
