The player switching in this game

Has to be some of the worse I have ever seen for any sports game. It almost never switches to the defender in the right position to make the correct play. Next year they really need to look into an icon switch option

I think there's some logic where it doesn't always give you the guy closest to puck but rather it prioritizes giving you the last man back on defense. Probably, it's something they focus-tested and most people prefer but it really ****s with me.

That’s the problem though. It almost always switches to the player closest to the puck. It almost never switches to last man back

Wow I had no idea this was in the game. Thanks! The mechanics are a little over complicated but at least there in there to use

Yeah, the only problem with this is that it's not easy to switch to your players in the center manually. On the perimeters it works great, though.

I've had to use the manual mechanic way too many time when I can't switch to the man in a race for the puck up ice even when he's closest to the puck. Lost a couple races because it took me a while to manually switch over and be able to hustle and get a better angle to the puck too.

It is, and it's a legacy issue. I love when a puck is loose in the crease and the game switches me to a changing dman instead of a forward around the net.

It just needs to be thrown with all of the other legacy AI problems that they probably won't get around to addressing until the second game on the new systems.the first game will most likely just be a port.
