For those of you a few years into a franchise

How are the financials going. Are cpu teams signing free agents, and is there actually free agents to sign. Just trying to gather some info on a long term ideas on a 3 or 4 year franchise that’s going on.

I am in the 2024 season (carryover from MLB 17 or 18 I'm not exactly sure) and yes there are Free Agents. Financials are fine for me as I really try to build from within and sign FAs to fill holes here and there. I no longer use the sponsorships but idk how much it honestly helps or hurts

Financials were a mess in my franchise that went from 2018-2021. Until they fix the budget system, I will play with budget off and simply use the real life MLB tax threshold (205 million or so) as a place mark

In 2026 in my franchise. Simmed to that point. I am seeing no issues with budgets or payroll.

Things are tight but not unworkable. 2014 to 2021.

It used to be a huge issue where 7+ years in teams would not have enough money to sign top FA's and the list would be filled with 90+ guys that would not sign and therefore retire at seasons end.

This is not the case anymore. First thing I do every year is sim 15 years. It works fine.
