Individual Tendencies

After getting frustrated with players just attacking the rim relentlessly, here’s my question.

Is it that difficult for the guys at 2K HQs to go ahead and edit everyone’s tendency. I think it’s half assed that they released the game without getting everyone’s tendencies right. And they’ve been doing it for years.

C’mon hahahaaaa. And this is just an offline player complaining lol

Tendencies are the worst theyve ever been, IMO. Westbrook takes nothing but leaning 3s. Rondo is shooting the lights out. Luka has a step back 3 tendency of 0. And Kristaps hardly ever posts up and refuses to shoot wide open jumpers. Of course players like LeBron and KD will play normal, but if youre not a top 5 superstar they play completely out of character. And unfortunately I'm a My Career player so if they DO fix these issues i would have to completely restart my character.

They could do a lot better on tendencies. That said roster making is difficult. I can only imagine trying to test players out while code is being changed, new features added, new badges, ratings taken out, etc. They also don't have the updated motion captures until late in the process.

I'm not defending certain tendencies mind you. There are ratings that are obviously just terrible. Siakam is just a total collection of garbage in his tendencies, across the board. I've discovered several bigs with high 3 point tendencies who can't actually shoot 3s. So there is certainly room for improvement. But balancing building the new game, waiting for new code, new players, new motion captures, combined with time to test out rosters can't be easy. Based on some of the ratings and tendencies that never changes, it seems they don't get even get to (or choose not to) changing some players. They stay the same year to year even if their playing style and skills change.

Are there specific examples?

One of the challenges of editing Tendencies is there's a lot of misinformation out there regarding them.

It's one thing to say "Porzingis never posts up or shoots". What specific tendencies do you think need to be adjusted in order to change that?

As an example some shooting bigs are set to always roll rather than pop.

Luka Doncic has a step back 3 tendency rating of 0.

I dont know many other tendencies off the top of my head but this is the second year they missed this.

No one besides Harden took more stepbacks.

I literally see him pull 5-6 a game from mid and from deep and that was Preseason.

Sure, he'll shoot a leaner or a floater. But he wont break someone running at full speed and bury a midrange J while they're stumbling.

Which shooting bigs? I don't see this AT ALL. SPECIFICITY is important for the dev team to handle issues.
