Editing Rosters can mean different things to everyone:
1. The Real Editing work is done manually in game by people like Vikesfan Group who take 80+% of the year every year putting together realistic rated team rosters for all of us. --they also edit some aspects using editors on a PC. https://forums.operationsports.com/f...er-update.html
2. The Nitty Gritty aspects of Editing with a PC --Transferring a Save file from your COnsole to a Flash Drive and then using that to extract spread sheet data for PLAYERS, TEAMS, Coaches, and cskl-Coaches Skills Data
(BUT THIS WILL "First" REQUIRE ) --For Sony PS3: BruteForce4.6 to decrypt a PS3 save file
and/or --For Xbox360: Modio 3 or 5 for extracting a fileContents data file from an Xbox360 Save files.
Spoiler
Modio3 & generic EA Db Editor- (Modio for extracting Xbox360 roster from save files & using EA db editor for only NCAA14 PS3 and Xbox360 roster files; EA db does not work correctly for NCAA 13 and older game rosters.)
Editor Download link>> Link or https://forums.operationsports.com/f...er-editor.html
(The ending .mc02 is optional to label name of roster files on EA db editor)
Bruteforce4.6 (for PS3 save files -decrypting/encrypting)

(Usually the first step to get the source of all Rosters on this site-Vikesfan PS3 roster.)
(SEE Bruteforce notes below for problems on first time installing Bruteforce on a windows pc)
3.For Extracting SpreadSheet data from the Save files: (use) EA GENERIC editor, and/or Ncaa Dynasty editor. --each important for specific NCAA games either for only editing roster players or also doing Dynasty related edits.
--------- Generic EA db Editor - is required for NCAA 14 rosters ; may also be useful for Dynasty but not completely sure.(this editor requires first loading Config files--I use Roster_NCAA14_Config to make the roster conversions on this site. But there is also Xan's NCAA 14 Roster Config and Dynasty config which make the data appear easier to read.
NCAA dynasty Editor - can be used for NCAA 14 , 13, 12, 11,10, 09 etc rosters.; --this program does not require a preloading of Config files and works for extracting files from all the NCAA games.
Note: it only extracts data for 3 data files: Players, Teams, and Coaches data (but not CSKL coach skill data like EA DB editor can do for NCAA14).
4. Using Offline Save files and the The transfer Process from your console to a Flash drive -- can frustrate most people here -- which is why most people don't get involved with the nitty gritty editing process.
5. Editing might also mean something more involved like taking the original NCAA 14 rosters of Xbox360 and PS3 and down-conconverting them to NCAA 13, 12, 11, etc.
-You will require the SOURCE PS3 or Xbox360 "SAVE FILES" and a DESTINATION FILE to port all your edited files into.
-So you will need SPREAD sheet data extracted from each source file and a spread sheet that was extracted from your destination file so you can edit or copy and paste specific columns or fields of data from one SPREAD SHEET into another. However, there are many problems to confront in these types of editing.
-There are about 3 more teams added into each successive NCAA game so you have to be careful to omit those teams data and players.
-There are 68 players in NCAA 12 and lower while there are 69 Players a team on NCAA 13&14. and there may be even less players eg. 66 on much older Ncaa games(unsure).
-And finally the most difficult problem is the scale of rating data may be completely different between the different games, so if you try to copy and paste it from NCAA 14 down to an older game, it may result in game freeze on loadup or other odd behavior. eg. Face data from NCAA 14 to 12 was known to cause freezes so a mathematical conversion was needed.
eg. PS2 2006 conversions made by antdroid have many different fields of data that had to be mathematically converted down for every player to make it work. It takes a long time for 8000+ players to do this.
-And finally Dynasty mode may still freeze on lower games vs Current games during these type of conversions unless certain (unknown by me) fields are specifically omitted in the conversions.
------------------------------- So I'm afraid there is No real simple straightforward easy guide to do all of this...just the treasure trove of information above for you to figure out for yourself. It took me Many days, weeks, or months of experimentation to figure out. But the guides above should speed up the learning process. ------------------------------------ **other useful Links: All the roster files I organized on this site to try out on All Console NCAA Games: (some of the same useful information above is scattered in below link) SUPER ARCHIVE >>https://forums.operationsports.com/f...3&postcount=98

That's a boatload of info. I didn't know that the roster edits were done in game.
So then I wonder, I downloaded the 19-20 roster last night and I noticed that some of the schools are named differently, like Army is now called Army West Point or FIU is labeled Florida International. Also some of the all-time W/L records for the new schools like GSU and South Alabama are now fleshed out. How do I make those kind of edits?
So, first, thanks for posting that treasure trove!
I just use Vikesfans 19-20 file for my offline stuff, and it’s great.
I’ve been beyond obsessed with All-Time Teams for about 20 years. I have detailed files. I used team builder for years to bring these teams to life, but when it crashed, I lost all of them.
My question is, is there a way to make more than two players have the same number? For example, Michigan has many great players that wore #1, and I’d like to have it be as accurate as possible if I’m building these teams over again.

I always assumed the Teams should not be renamed from default names or else game may have odd behavior & freeze--so not sure renaming is possible. Team or Coaches records may be able to be edited with EA db editor but I don't know how. I know Vikesfan edits these manually in game or with the editor.

Yes, through EA DB editor or NCAA dynasty editor you can make 2 players have the same jersey# eg. a defensive and offensive player can have same # like in real life. Not sure if 3 or more players with the same # will cause any problems. I never tried that.
I'm wanting to work on some PS3 rosters on my PC, but the Bruteforce download is being identified as infected with trojans by my antivirus. Does anyone know if this is a false positive? Is there any alternative to using Bruteforce?
So I've been editing my own rosters using NCAA Dynasty Editor without any issue on NCAA 10 and for the most part on NCAA 13. I am getting a weird error when trying to play with certain teams on my updated roster I made. For some reason certain teams when trying to start a game with them, the game gets stuck on the loading screen. It does not freeze, because the animations keep going, it just keeps loading. Has this happen to any one else, and if so, what is causing it?
