CPU calls all draw plays on last drive when down?

Was playing a game today on All-Pro and I take a 4 point lead with about 16 seconds left (after they return the kickoff). The CPU then decides to run four draw plays in a row and never comes close to the end zone. While the CPU has always had some strange play calling this was by far the worst ive seen. Has this been seen before? If so is there anything I can do to avoid like changing any sliders or settings?

Yeah play calling late in the game has always been a struggle in madden

I lost against the cpu the other day because i was playing pass defense and they ran it but ended up being successful with it and kicked the game winning field goal on me. But to fix it the only thing i can suggest is to take control of the opposing team you play each week and set their game plan to red zone offense and i heard that usually helps game play

AI time management has always been poor. Even outside of the last two minutes, they don't seem to realise they need to hurry up.

Then an easy obvious one for the AI - if you're kicking an end of half/game field goal, take your TO with 3 seconds left. They always take it at 10 or longer, giving me another chance at them.

Their time management is awful.


In a game last night, down by 3 with 50 seconds left, no timeouts, and starting from my 40, they ran a draw. Didn't hurry up, just got in the huddle, then threw a pass along the sideline and the WR turned up field instead of going out of bounds so the clock ran out. They could've kicked a 35yd field goal to tie it but they were so braindead that the clock ran out.

would you be here crying ROBO if the cpu wen't down and scored with laser precision?

So EA is so bad at developing games that their only options are Robo QB or running draw plays?
