CPU NOT Pulling Goalies when trailing

Has anyone noticed in Franchise mode the CPU does NOT pull the goalies when training a game?

I dont know if its a setting i changed!

Check your cpu strategy settings,maybe you lowered it.

I know the answer to this one.


set : auto rotate goalies: On and put CPU Strategy Adjustment at 2-3 (has to be high though, but I suggest 2-4 around there)
set : User strategy adjustment: 1 or 2 (if in franchise mode)


for be a pro


set: CPU Strategy Adjustment: 2-4
set: Be A Pro Strategy Adjustment: 1-4 or User Strategy Adjustment: 1-4


set: Line changes (both human and cpu) to Manual or Auto


another answer if u are concerned for AI CPU and User not managing roster and stuff


set : CPU Edits lines to : On , Before Starting Franchise mode
set : when entering edits lines set to : Coach manages Lines


also when going to rules section make sure .


it says NHL Coach and AHL Coach Edits Line: to On or Auto or Full Control.

Most of this is not necessary. CPU strategy just needs to be at 1 or higher and the CPU will pull its goalie late in a game when down 1 or 2 goals. At least that's how it was since about NHL07...

it was changed recently, u have to have , auto rotate goalies: On, if u don't AI CPU doesn't change goalies after 4 -6 goals, doesn't matter if cpu strategy adjustments was at 1 or not, how I know this, I tested it like 3-5 times, in my coach mode slider, if auto rotate goalies wasn't on he just left goalie in there to get scored on 10 goals.


soon after I changed it, he changed goalies, it was normal again, now for User Strategy Adjustment: 1 , it has to be minimal of 1 or user coach doesn't change goalies, if u are down 5 or 6 goals. and to pull the goalie at 1 minute mark.


now for be a pro, CPU Strategy Adjustment: 1-3 and User Strategy Adjustment: 3-4 and Be A Pro Strategy Adjustment: 1 (pulls goalie at the one minute mark)

Auto rotate goalies has zero affect inside the actual game. It only changes the starter occasionally.

well that's good thing, cause u need to that for ai cpu to change goalies, if they are blown out by 5-8 scores, cpu strategy adjustment is tied to auto rotate goalies.


not saying it has effect on actual game play, but u need it on though, not sure why its tied to auto rotate goalies though, just one of mysteries of this game.
