Rumble for sub mini game

The more I think about it, the less I think we’ll see TBS in UFC 4, that may be something better set for UFC 5.

For UFC 4 I’d like to see simple submissions with stamina tie in become the default.

It’d be skill based because you have to manage stamina and pressing too hard will gas you out leaving you more vulnerable to submitting or escaping.

e: HUDless subs can be possible by having a rumble in the mini game.

Re: Simple submissions online

Let’s make submissions worse than a mobile game now. I’m against this suggestion.

It’s a way to have HUDless subs. Most people don’t like the giant HUD.

So you want to button mash the same buttons used for technical combos and timed ground and pound for subs just to remove the HUD? No thanks. Surely there’s a better method.

TBS is that method. This is the best we got until then.

I bet you havent played EA MMA, they had button mash subs with stamina and people were happy with it. Most people here say EA MMA had the best subs.

EA MMA definitely had the best subs. The limb sub system was a strategic button mash. When people hear the term “button mash” they just think about frantically mashing a button with no skills. That’s not how ea mma handled it.

You had to manage stamina. If you mashed too frantically you’ll gas out, too slow and you lose your grip. Sometimes it was a constant steady rhythm, others it was bursts of a harder mash and mini breaks to recover stamina.

BUT...that system being the best isn’t a huge accomplishment. All of the sub systems we’ve seen are garbage compared to what a true transition based system would be.

A TBS system is the holy grail of submission systems.

The issue with EA MMA's limb system was that it was almost entirely stat based, at least against the AI. It was almost impossible to get one off unless you had quite a bit higher sub offence. I don't know how it was like online, maybe it was more competitive with lower stats.

Re: Simple submissions online

Maybe the devs can make the mini game HUDless. When you overlap the gate there would be a rumble.
