I’ve recently picked the game back up after not playing for a while and have become incredibly frustrated with the gameplay, and I think it all boils down two these two aspects of the striking:
1.) Realistic Animations for Fighters Skillset
So often I find myself so mad because I’m online fighting a guy who ends up tearing me up with body kicks or leg kicks when they’re fighting as Khabib or DC or anyone else who isn’t good at kicking in real life.
Now obviously their speed and power ratings are lower, but the animations for these fighters should be much less skilled and easier to defend. Sure, I know that I should just “get good” and block the kicks, but a Khabib/DC should look absolutely nothing like an Aldo kick, and they should be different in that they’re easier to defend. In fact, I’d argue kicks with these fighters should be practically useless, as neither fighters use kicks in real life.
You wouldn’t make a 2K game where Shaq has a beautiful shooting stroke.
2.) Stamina
I know it might not be as fun to some people if they aren’t able to throw a ton of strikes, but it gets ridiculous sometimes. I’ve fought against people using characters with like 90 stamina, and they’re throwing nearly 100 strikes per round and their stamina is still okay. It’s alright to make it to where the output is able to be high, but every fight shouldn’t break the record for strikes thrown.
