I'm about to be 35 and this side stroller beat em up is the genre I didn't know I missed.

It's modern but it has that old feel. On normal, the difficulty is perfect. There is still something about having a boss down to a quarter life bar that makes me jump up and stand 2 feet from the tv. I'm having a ball with this one.

I know what you mean. I'm 31 and I grew up playing beat-em-ups like Final Fight, TMNT, Double Dragon, and of course SoR.

I think the genre inspired the modern hack-n-slash franchises like Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta etc. It's nice to play a traditional side-scroller now and again though.

The combat feels pretty fluid in this. I was expecting it to feel stiff for some reason. Were the old games more like that? I don't quite remember but I thought the SoR franchise had a slower pace than the other beat-em-ups of the era. Anyway, they did a great job on this.

Who is your favorite character? From the small tests I've played of them I like Cherry, Axel, Floyd, then Blaze--in that order. I think there is one unlockable new character and they also put the classic fighters in too so I'm looking forward to trying those out as well

I’m having so much fun with this game. I got it on the game pass. Mad I got to level 10 and loss to its level boss. Got to restart level. They need to make more of these games

I played Streets of Rage 1 and 2 on the Genesis, missed the 3rd one.

This was an outstanding rendition. Managed to clear the game on normal and it was harder than I anticipated for just a normal beat em up, but kudos to the team on this game.

Really enjoyed it.

Played and completed SOR 4 in one sitting. Good game. For me, SOR > SOR 2 > SOR 4 > SOR 3. Playing SOR 4 makes me want a new Final Fight. lol.
