Will the hardcore community migrate over to UFC 3 or stick with UFC 4?

Ea UFC 4, has turned the franchise into a casual game. It is clear from this forum and other outlets. We have all played the game I do not need to go over all the reasons why it is a bad game

With one month to release it's clear not much will change and the issues we have with the game are fundamental.

So do you think the hardcore community will move over to UFC 4 or stick with UFC 3?

I’m sure the hardcore guys are still playing Undisputed 3 today

Other than that, I see no reason staying on UFC 3. 4 from what I have seen from the Beta footage is a much more smooth and flowing game, the game just looks way less robotic than UFC 3 or UFC 1.

It doesn't look that bad in my opinion. Definitely an upgrade from UFC 3. I'll definitely be moving over to UFC 4

I'm a hardcore fan.

The thing is if we don't play EA UFC 4 it won't be tuned to where we need it to be.

If you recall, EA UFC 3 beta and initial release also had issues. Enough for me to not bother with online. To EA's credit, they tuned it and patched amazingly to the point where EA UFC 3 is a game I still play the most today. Based on that, I have faith that the same improvements will happen here. This is just a beta. As a software engineer, I know Beta builds are cut way in advance and bugs are prevalent.

GPD is no longer on the team. I'm hopeful that UFC 4 will be tuned like it was in the past but he was a big motivating force behind the big patches.

I’m not saying UFC 3 is a bad game, just stating how good Undisputed still is to many of us. I do play both, and 4 is definitely a huge improvement

Oh I didnt think that. I just dont think that a ton of hardcore players are playing UD3 anymore. I do (Its the sole reason I keep my 360) but I think most have moved on.

A bit off topic but you know with GPD leaving it’ll definitely very interesting to see how they handles the game post launch, especially since this is the last game on the deal and if UFC and EA are going to renew and what GPD leaving could mean for future titles..

Yes you do because people have different issues with it. Some people play UFC because they want to create real-life fighters and run their own promotions while others care about competitive balance. This begs the question what exactly is "hardcore community"?

I still play it as well. Far more than UFC3. Certain people can call it "nostalgia" all they want, but if I've consistently played that game for 8 years over the new ones I don't think that's nostalgia.

From your expertise as a software engineer, when do you think this beta was made? Do you also think important animation adjustments such as finish the fight (TKO on ground) and elbows from
guard, half guard, and mount can be added before August 14? Especially since they already have all those animations.

I worked in game development for about 12 years and can say that, for the most part, any build of any game that we released to the public (excluding MMORPG's) was probably 2-3 months old.

Betas usually have the #1 priority set on fixing crashes..anything else is 'nice to have'.
