Posture duration

So I asked the GCs about the auto posture GNP and they said it's called posture duration. Considering its response this wasnt a popular decision. So what you rather have? Keep posture duration and extend it or add back manual posture down.

Re: Posture duration

I never got to really put in alot of ground work on the beta.

Am I understanding it correctly that in 4, when you posture up to GNP in any position that you can posture up in...after a set amount of time you just automatically drop down and have to transition again if you wanna go back to being postured up?

Re: Posture duration

IIRC the duration only mattered when you just sat there idle or if your strikes were blocked or missed. Either way, I'm in favor of having it removed or increased so that the mechanic is irrelevant, no need to take away control from the player, let them make their own mistakes.

The GCs said it's not really auto posture down that's us misunderstanding. It's more block or miss a certain amount of strikes and the bottom fighter will pull/posture you back down. So there's a posture duration you extend by landing shots and deplete by missing or being blocked.

Re: Posture duration

wtf is the purpose of a mechanic like that?

I'm genuinely asking.

Trying to appeal to a broader audience, would be my guess.

Re: Posture duration

I dnt wanna offend any of the devs, but im sorry...the idea to make posturing work that way was just plain silly imo.

Smh if anything, they should have just made realistic Tko's that followed similar logic...not posturing. For example, you rock a fighter on the ground and once they go into the tko state, land enough strikes and the ref will eventually step in. Then if the bottom figher blocks or dodges a certain amount of strikes, they regain control of your posture and recover. But having a posture system working like this isn't the way. Players should be able to posture down at their own will.
