What if the season is cancelled?

I was wondering what various thoughts and suggestions would be from you fine folks as to what happens per the game this year and updates, should the nfl season be cancelled. ???

Maybe some nods in the commentary, doubt there'd be much else, at least not until well after Next Gen launches.

I think the biggest Madden concern from no season is that some of these awful launch ratings will be stuck there all year.

Nothing....EA is still going to release the game & cash in. I don't see the game being affected at all or updates. Like others said ratings & commentary updates would probably be unchanged throughout the yr. I actually think the ratings are the purest at launch & than get juiced after that. Plus it sounds like most of, if not all of the EA employees are working from home already. I actually would love to see the season be cancelled.

EA is going to see a dip in profits. That was going to happen anyway due to the financial burden on many of their customers on account of the quarantine, but it will be more pronounced if the NFL season is cancelled as fan interest will be less. Hopefully, that motivates them to make the game better, but it is more likely they will search for more ways to squeeze money out of their remaining customers (or ignore the short-term revenue loss and maintain status quo).

Profits are up across the board in the gaming sector, likely no different when it comes to this fall. If anything Madden may fill a void if there's no season at all, and we could see NFL players who play the game more accessible than ever.

Definitely this. I'm currently on the fence about getting 21, but in the unlikely event the season was cancelled, I'd definitely buy it to try to fill the void of no NFL season.
