Why Am I Bad in UFC 4

My standup felt way better in UFC 3 but in UFC 4 I'm complete ***, do you guys have tips with striking and defending subs?
Work hard for what you want because it won't come to you without a fight.

    Stand-up is not the same

Jabs straights hooks and uppercuts all have different ranges and tracking now. Previously on EA UFC 3 these punches would all track at relatively the same range. Now you'll often come up short on hooks and uppercuts.

How do I defend the standing guillotine?

Edited previous post for wrong information.

When they get you into a head lock you have to either press R2 once you see the animation for the sub attempt this is hard with a tv but easier with a monitor but the timing is strict or you can back out from head lock before they move you to cage .

There are about 3 variations of the guillotine choke from clinch positions . The most dangerous being when you are pressed up against the cage from a front head lock.

You best a friend to train denying that animation with . But the timing is strict. The one from single under against the cage , you gotta camp on R2.

Could anyone give me some tips on denying subs? Everytime we hit the ground its a sub fest.

            For joint submissions L2 ______________________ R2

You start in the middle defending .

What you want to do is think like it's a bomb and the R2 and L2 are wires to diffuse the bomb. You have to " tenderly " rock the boat to escape your Opponent's bar. So press R2 softly like a woman's nipple and then move the other way by pressing R2 the second nipple . If you press to hard , remember she's your wife she will spazz . So gently , gently.

Same if you are attacking . But when your opponent is in the middle of the metre don't press anything you will automatically center in the middle.

            That's my technique.

For choke subs the one with the big circle not gonna lie I'm still learning that . These are harder to pull off since the patch . But the idea is to escape your opponent tracking you. The less your pad vibrates the safer you are .

Also if it's a guillotine you have to press the counter prompt first before your opponent.

For attacking to be honest like I said in still trying to get the hang of it.

Using controlled movements is very important, but stamina management matters just as much, if not more.

Guys who go for subs constantly are usually doing so at the expense of their own energy. Be very mindful of that, because if their energy is low and yours isn't, they're going to have a very hard time finishing you. Also, you'll often advance to a more beneficial position once their sub attempt fails.

Submissions are tuned very nicely right now. It was a mess in the beta, so I'm glad they got that together.

You need to be way more specific to get advice that's relevant to you.

I feel you bro, I got down to division 2 (yes, 2!!) at one point in ranked. The game is still fun but I’m struggling big time.

I think he means denying the sub attempt, not defending once caught in a sub, but I could be wrong.
