My biggest fear for 2k on next gen
I will skip the ps4 version of 2k21 for multiple reasons and wait for the ps5.
I'm kind of excited and curious for the "all new brand game" stuff 2k is hyping around, but I have one big fear too.
It's no secret that 2k took the casual route in the last years, given the huge success of MyPlayer, park, youtubers, etc. etc.
Still, the game had a very good sim foundation (gameplay, AI, playbooks, Myleague) coming from the first installments on the current gen, when the casual fanbase wasn't yet a big share of their market as it is now.
What if in developing the core elements for the next gen, 2k definetely changed their vision for the game, overlooking the sim part of the package while focusing on "fortnite" part of the experience and investing most of the budget on it?
That's my biggest fear, reinforced by the fact that two of the most symbolic figures of the old skool 2k (Rob Jones and Scott OG) left 2k for EA.
Am I the only one?
