Trip Takedowns

On trip takedowns, the attacker should have priority on initiating the ground game. The defender is able to stand up too quickly. I feel that the attacker should have a little more time to let the defender stand up, move to the feet on hips position, or jump into their guard. Right now, as soon as you trip them they can bounce right back up, and frankly that isn’t realistic when you’re standing literally inches away from your opponent.

Re: Trip Takedowns

I wish the trips against the cage were a litte less dramatic and maybe harder to deny. If like to see more inner and outer reaps, rather than tossing people in the air like they’re made of feathers

Re: Trip Takedowns

another thing about trip takedowns is that they should actually do some amount of damage. i think it would be good if the damage was similar to the throws you can do after a caught kick, where you take on a stamina loss and a bit of body damage.

regarding takedowns as a whole though, do any of you feel that scrambles happen a bit too often?
