Arrow MLO - Hall of Fame 3PT Sliders Higher than Normal

Hey everyone,

Our league has been playing on Hall of Fame sliders for years and we're noticing something different with 2k21. I'll be using 2k20 as a comparison.

In 2k20, out of the box user 3pt success is 45, which it has been for years.

In 2k21, for some reason the 3pt shooting for HOF out of the box has been set to 55, causing players to score 125-140 points per game and going 55-60% shooting from 3.

If you notice, this doesn't just affect 3pt shooting but affects all shooting where normally the slider is set to 45 and now it's on 50 except for 3pt shooting which is now 55.

Of course we know we can adjust, but we tried adjusting from 55 to 50 and shooting has been completely off. Like 1/20 off with solid shooters being wide open.

We would love for a dev to chime in on this as this is the first time we've ever experienced having to change multiple sliders on HOF.

My thought is that the cpu sliders are practically the same as what we're seeing for the user sliders in 2k21, which could mean 2k is copying the sliders from the cpu side.

Just looking for feedback from others who are used to playing on HOF and hoping a dev would chime in if there is any rationale behind the higher slider settings out of the box for shooting, if it's just a mistake, or if we're going to need to really adjust sliders we've haven't had to adjust for many years.

Re: MLO - Hall of Fame 3PT Sliders Higher than Normal

For the last 5 2ks I have shot 45 to 50 percent from 3 as a team. This year i have yet to have a game over 20 percent from 3. So these sliders have not made shooting easier from my view. I have yet to see any HOF game with high 3 pt percentages. I would love to see video proof that guys are running around on HOF shooting 60 percent from 3.

Are you saying the users controlled teams are shooting that high against each other or the CPU is shooting that high in simulated games?

60-65% on 3pts shots in HOF by default? Really? I didn't think that was possible even not with prime Kyle Korver shooting wide open all the time... LOL

My main issue with the shooting (and I don't know how to solve it with sliders) is that the shots this year are green or miss (we always came back to greens mechanic) very few of those slight right/left are going in... yes skill is important and so... but it is to dramatic in my view.

we use superstar Standard sliders for years (since 2k11....or even before). this year we are trying to Change them as the 3pt shooting in Standard superstar (55) is just atrocius. on allstar Standard everyone is hitting too much, ok superstar, most Shoot below 20%. and adjusting by just one point is having a Big effect. on just 60, everyone is hitting over 50%. on 57 nobody is hitting anything.

Re: MLO - Hall of Fame 3PT Sliders Higher than Normal

Joe is in my MLO. I asked him to create this thread. While we have had some anamoly OP 3 point percentages they have been far and few between. If anything our league 3 point percentage shooting has been abysmal with both makes and percentage. I was just kind of taken aback when I saw the out of the box hof Sim sliders at 55 for shooting. Normally Mike Wang would provide some type of statement on the sliders and underlying rationale for the shot heuristics. I have never seen shooting sliders at 55 in any 2k game dating back since forever. They have always been at 45 to 47 max. Hopefully a Dev and specifically Mike can chime in on this change. For now I don't see 55 as an issue as hardly anyone can shoot in the league and there is a collective member whining about the inability to hit shots at an efficient like previous 2ks. I chalk it up to a lack of reps with teams and personnel but the good thing about MLO is eventually you can master your team since you're only using one team for the duration of the multi season online association. I just wanted any explanation for this sudden slider change in 2k21. Aside from that the game is playing great head to head. I cannot chime in on cpu offline play as I never play offline.
