Wait so I just signed on again and it said servers are down. But if I delete the game and reinstall again it will work? I wasnt having any issues getting on after downloading the patch. Why do I have them now?

That's what I got from reading that. Like you, I had been paying since downloading the patch without issue till last night.

What are the down sides to clearing reserved space (Xbox One workaround)? Do I lose any saves doing that?

No - you will not lose any saved files by clearing the reserved space.
