Is the Defensive Assist broken or is it just me?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this here, but I play on All Pro Custom Franchise and always used the Defensive Assist button (LB on Xbox). I use it sparingly to match up with the offensive player that's in my path depending if i'm LB or DB. I never use it for DL. In any case, I notice this years different. When you hold Defensive Assist, it just mans up on any given player.

I think I read it no longer works this year.

What the heck! How can they break that? It was useful for players like me.
