Re: MXGP 2020 - The Official Motocross Videogame Available Today

Early Impressions

I was going to wait for this game to go on sale because I figured they had reached their peak with MXPG 2019 , but today we are getting over a foot of snow so I took the day off and decided to buy it , and I'm glad I did.

So far all I've done is the first race they toss you into , then I ran every track by myself in Time trial mode , and I ran one Grand Prix in 450 class using Antonio Cairoli. Track was Valkenswaard , short race , A.I. on medium.

I'll start by saying the game feels great , completely new feel from 2019 , rider control feels real nice and very fluid. You can really feel the difference between the different bikes also. I've also notice a couple manufactures I've not seen in the game before, those being Gasgas , and Fantic. 125 , 250 , and 450 are in the game.

As I said I ran every track in time Trial mode and man do they look and feel nice. Even though I've ridden these tracks hundreds of times before they are newly designed and fresh. I also like the lighting and shading from the trees as you pass by , very well done. I can't wait until I can find a PS5!!!!!

A.I. on medium was no challenge as expected, I'll come back to report on that when I crank them up a bit more.

At this point there is no first person view and no track editor. I messaged the Dev's on Facebook and both are coming in a patch in the next couple days.

Also I'm a bit disappointed in the track deformation , so far I'm not seeing much but I've only run short races. That's it for now , back to it.

49 dollar price point and carry's over to PS5 if a real person can ever buy one.

I like it so far as well.

Looks great and rides great.

One negative issue has popped up, in career mode when it starts raining the game sometimes starts moving in slow motion. Very strange.

I assume you’re on a PS4? I’m reviewing it on PS5 and not seeing that at all. I ask, and this is important, because if others are seeing this on the PS4 as well I need to include it

Yes PS4 Pro , I'm going to try turning boost mode off and see if that helps.

Re: MXGP 2020 - The Official Motocross Videogame Available Today

Now that I'm 7 weeks into my first year of career mode I have to say the A.I. is more challenging on medium than the were on Grand Prix races. Once i move uo to the 450 class I'll probably crank them up a bit. I really love the overall feel of this game. The total control you have of the bike on the ground and in the air is very smooth and precise. They just nailed it this year.

My only complaint is I wish we could turn the rain off and the particles that show up on the screen. I know they are going for realism with the mud / dirt on screen but I'd rather not have it. After 7 career weeks , 14 moto's half of them have been in the rain , to many.
