SimRats NBA 2k21 Fictional Draft Classes (XB1)

What to expect from these draft classes

To start with every prospect will have a 25 intangible rating. I also mass edit my entire league to be the same. The intangible attribute is simply used to fine tune overall ratings, but with these draft classes you will have to look beyond the overall rating. There will be players with low overalls who have the potential to make a major impact if used in the right role. Along these lines, you will have to also look beyond the assigned 2k Archetype listed for a player, it may or may not be very accurate as to a player's true skillset.

Each draft class will have 75 fully crafted prospects. Each prospect will have customized faces, accessories, signatures, attributes and tendencies. This takes a lot of time to do so unless anyone wants to join the team to help get classes out faster there will be delay between each class being ready.

Each draft class will have a scouting guide which will feature some detailed scouting reports on a handful of players that we feel deserve a larger backstory. It will also feature a Big Board consisting of our Top 30 players, although be warned this may or may not be completely accurate, you will have to supplement this information with the in game scouting. To make things more fun I would use a scout with no higher than a B+ rating.

Badges are very important in 2k, and to that end each prospect has a range of badges that complement their skillset and make them a unique player.

There will also be 2 different versions of each draft class available in which the only change will be peak start and peak end for prospects. There may be lots of changes, there may only be a few, but this will allow you to play multiple MyLeague's and never quite know what you're going to get.

The first draft class currently has 62 of 75 players at least partially created. The goal is to have this class completed by opening night, December 22nd. I can't guarantee that the scouting guide will also be available immediately when the draft class is ready, but I will do my best to have it ready ASAP.

So to hold you over, here is a brief preview of the scouting guide

Have made a ton of progress in player creation, currently have 70 players done with 50 or so of them having sigs done as well. Pushing to have the draft class ready by tomorrow night, and will put together the draft guide following that.

Huge thanks to my partner in the creation of the DC, Legend Rips

Final touches going on sigs and then the two versions with different peak start and ends will be worked on. On track for a late night release, or mid afternoon tomorrow.

                First Draft Class is available!

                File Name2021 DC1/2021 DC2

Both draft classes are identical except for peak start and peak ends being changed to provide variety. We will work to get out the scout guide for this draft class as soon as possible, but I wouldn't anticipate anything until January. We also have plans to upload some Draft Combine Scrimmages to YouTube so you can see the players in action prior to spending a pick on them!

So in typical 2k fashion, despite the nickname field being absent in the draft class creator, all players are being assigned the default nickname of ABC. If this bothers you I suggest simply turning down the commentary volume and keeping the game/arena sounds.

Not sure what your classes look like as I’m on PS4, but to make sure they don’t use nicknames you need to make sure the commentators say the name when choosing it from the database. Those names are a bit more generic, but if you chose a unique last name not in the game, they will opt for a nickname instead.

If you’re creating your players based on player DNA, there’s a chance you get nicknames there as well.

Just what I’ve noticed as I create my classes.

Every name is one that is in the database and pronounced when selected so it must be DNA that I imported to shorten the amount of time spent editing tendencies.

Sounds like that DNA bug snuck itself into 2k21 as well. Don't quote me on this, but I think what might work is going to edit the player, and then moving a tendency like 1 spot over, something minor, and then save. I've done this when creating twins or brothers and it always seems to work.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Does it have to be inside the players edit menu or would quick edit work?
