HOW TO GET TO ALL STAR PLUS

THIS IS STRAIGHT FROM JOSHC 2nd POST. NOT MY WORDS. he knows way more about this than me, I even picked his brain about it. This is a direct quote from his thread, all credit to him.

“Lots of new players this year; so let's not assume everyone knows everything. I've referenced "All Star Plus" in my thread and I'm sure many folks don't know what that is. MLB The Show has something called "Dynamic Difficulty". If you set the game difficulty to "Dynamic", the game will adjust what level you're playing on based on your performance. So you can go from Rookie all the way up to Legend. In the slider screen, there is a dynamic difficulty sensitivity slider that allows you to adjust how quickly the level will change based on performance. Set to 0, it won't budge.

Here's the super-cool thing. There are "plus" levels which are middle-grounds between difficulties and these are often fantastic for many players. So, instead of going from All Star to Hall of Fame, you go from All Star to All Star+ to Hall of Fame. I really love All Star+ because it is still a ratings-based format (unlike the more arcade-like HOF difficulty) but it also provides that little extra edge I want. Here's how you get there.

1. Go into game settings and change hitting and pitching to dynamic.
2. Load sliders, make sure the dynamic difficulty sensitivity slider is set to 5. (It can be higher as well while you do your run to boost the difficulty).
3. Save any changes to the sliders.
4. Go into a Play Now game and see what level it has you set to (there will be a pop-up).
5. Play the game and wait for it to go to AS+. (now...if it starts you at a lower level...go ahead and boost the sensitivity slider to 10 and/or bias the sliders completely in your favor - this all will just make it go faster).
6. Once you hit AS+ on both hitting and pitching, exit the game you're playing. Go and load the OP sliders and then change the dynamic difficulty sensistivity slider to 0. That will lock you into AS+.
7. Once in franchise, double check your game settings and sliders and make sure they are what you want.”

OP Updated. Enjoy! There’s so much to like this year. The only thing I’m really looking at until a patch messes up everything is pitch consistency for both sides. Played around at 7 for both. Ive settled on 6 for now. I wish I could do 6.5 lol

I've played 6 games so far with this slider set. Could still be early , but my pitchers are averaging just 4 k's per game. Hitters are all like Vlad Guerrero Sr .. they are swinging at everything, either fouling or putting balls in play. What slider needs to be adjusted to increase strikeouts for my pitchers?

Hmm I haven’t had that issue myself. I’m actually picky with strikeouts too. If the problem continues I’d lower cpu timing a bit more and if that doesn’t work lower cpu contact to 4.

Okay, I straight up came out with that initially set too soon lol. I played about 15-20 games with what I have updated in the OP and enjoying it. I dropped user hitting down to All Star. So we got a split set going on here. Not really starting an actually franchise until we get decent rosters. Going to use the Mariners once OSFM drops.

How do these play on HOF hitting vs All Star? Used Armor & Sword sliders for like 10 years but he's not getting 21 and these seem pretty similar.

I've been using his 20 set on 21 and feel like hitting, especially making solid contact, is a bit harder this year. Going to give these a shot though but not sure if I should leave my game on HOF or flip it to All Star?

** also just noticed this set is missing CPU Stamina sliders? Leave at 5 or put on 8 same as human?

It’s the same as human stamina. Thanks for pointing that out by the way I didn’t realize I made that mistake.

As far as your question about hitting. I also started at HOF and went to all star. And for the record I even toyed around with legend directional hitting last year. So to say the least, this game is definitely harder in my opinion from a hitting aspect. Which I absolutely love.

I’ve been using them on HOF (long time Armor user as well) and have been having some good games with them.

The game is definitely harder this year and I struggled out the gate, but now that my timing has gotten better I’ve started to hit.
