mvpstax's 2K22 Next-Gen Sim Sliders

This is just how I play.

Been playing some pretty good games on Superstar this year. Hall of Fame seems to be a little more difficult than normal, and I'm not someone who makes tons of adjustments on the fly, nor am I an expert on my players hot zones - and while I do know some dribble moves (enough to dribble with intent and purpose for the most part), I'm not a "dribble God" by any means.

I've been getting some wild variety when it comes to these games, which is really cool to see. Some games I'm getting wrecked, and some games I shoot lights out and feel like everything is clicking. Some games I can't defend the perimeter, and some games I get toasted in the paint.

I feel like this year, teams play differently.

Against the Mavs, you should be able to drive all day because they lack perimeter defense. But, they're hard to contain, so get ready for a shootout. The Celtics might be harder to score against though because of guys like Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and Time Lord locking down the paint.

Also, keep in mind that I'm playing with the Raptors, so your experience may differ.

This set is NOT recommended for camera angles such as 2K Cam, High, or any other camera angle that does not represent a "side view" of the court

My Preferred Camera: Nosebleeds, Zoom: 1, Height: 4
Rail, Broadcast, Skybox, or any "side" angle can also work here.

Bunch of new changes with the latest patch. Still figuring out how the defense got nerfed on the cpu side, but these have been playing really nicely for me.

A couple of things I've been noticing with these updates:

More fouls (my working theory right now is that a higher strength value creates more forceful movement and harder contact, which results in more fouls... am I crazy?).

More variety with open shots/contested shots either falling or not falling. An open three should not be guaranteed. Likewise, you'll have to take contested jumpers - and those shouldn't be misses every time either.

More turnovers. Teams should be turning the ball over (through steals, charges/offensive fouls, passes being thrown away on accident, etc.) on average about 11-17 times per game, with single game outliers of 5-10 (on the low end) and up to possibly 25 times (on the very high end). But 2 to 5 turnovers per quarter per team is generally what you should see happening.

Something really satisfying for me is when I push the ball up the floor and find my guy streaking to the corner for an open three on a fast break. When the shot falls it's a thing of beauty, but it's important that that shot doesn't fall every time (otherwise it's cheesy rather than a good open look).

These sliders are meant to make all plays possible, but not guaranteed.

Last note about gameplay: You're going to have to make minor coaching adjustments with these from time to time during the game. Just like in real life. I just played the Pacers and was smothering Jeremy Lamb on the perimeter, so he drove right past me three times in a row. So I manually backed up and gave him a little space, to which he took (and nailed) a jumper instead.

Malcolm Brogdon was torching me, so I had to go into my coach settings and change my gameplan to double Brogdon on the drive - this forced him to take more jump shots and pass the ball more, just like it would in real life. Did it leave me susceptible to the drive and kick for open jumpers? Yes, yes it did... just like it should have.

Camera Update (FINALLY!): They updated the camera options in MyNBA mode with the last patch, so I am back to the nosebleeds camera, which right now I believe is the best/most realistic to a broadcast in the game hands-down. I'll list my sliders for those below...

'm calling these Beta 2.0, but they're pretty solid I think. Will update OP with this post.

Version: Beta 2.0

Last thing to note: I strive for a realistic, sim experience. It's not 100% achievable yet because of things like fouls not being called enough. However, since scores seem to reach the 105 to 115 range pretty frequently, I decided to compensate with slightly increasing field goal percentages to reach the total points.

While NBA teams normally reach about 46% FG, 35% 3PT, and 23 FTA per game on average. These sliders have given me games closer to 50% FG, 40% 3PT, and about 10 FTA per game.

Like I said, to compensate for the lack of FTA (even with the sliders maxed), I've slightly increased the shot success to still end up with the normal total points average.

Notes from last year's stats thread:
Spoiler

All feedback is welcome, but please only play these in MyNBA mode and give them like 3 or 4 games to recognize patterns. Like I said, I've experienced some wild variety. Your first game with these might feel super easy, but your second and third might be really challenging, so give it a few games of testing first please.

Re: mvpstax's 2K22 Next-Gen Sim Sliders

Decided to post my sliders since I've been enjoying this game much more than 2K21.

Movement sliders should help generate more fast breaks.

These look good.. will try them tonight. I like what you did here. Never tried the camera you had listed because I’m a broadcast guy

Thanks man. Let me know your thoughts. Still in Beta version, so definitely interested to see how others are finding these.

For the camera, right now I'm still stuck on the camera glitch with Rail being my only side view camera. It's not too terrible if you zoom all the way out and lower the height.

Thank you for the slider! I noticed you didn't post the Simulation slider (Team Pace, Possessions Per Game, etc.). Are you still using last year's stat thread slider?

Thanks for posting this big bro! For what I've seen, you have a similar slider philosophy as me (lol), and a lot of the changes you made I already had made in my game too. Im definitely gonna try these out and give it some feedback later
