Detroit Lions: Ending the Drought in Motor City
Hello and welcome to my Madden 22 Franchise! My name is Jake, and it has been a long time since I've been active on this site, but I'm looking forward to getting back into it. As you can see I have decided to play as the Detroit Lions. I chose them because I was, and still am, a huge fan of Matthew Stafford, but I can't quite shake my feelings of fondness for the Lions. Maybe I just have a thing for liking 'sad' sports teams (See: Washington Football Team, Everton, Kansas State Football(this is the 'best' of the bunch, but Collin Klein was still robbed of the Heisman).

On June 23, 2020 Sheila Ford Hamp succeeded her mother, Martha Firestone Ford, as Principal Owner and Chair of the Detroit Lions. On August 8, 2021 Sheila Ford Hamp stepped down as the Principal Owner and Chair of the Detroit Lions.

This story is developing now, and as such not much is known as to the reasoning surrounding this decision from the short-lived previous owner of the Detroit Lions.

The one thing that is known is the man who will take over the Principal Owner position and his name is Giovanni Holloway. Holloway will instantly become one of the youngest owners in the National Football League at 66 years of age. His background is in finance with one of his credentials being an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Holloway is going to inherit one of the two NFL teams with the longest Super Bowl droughts, and just mere days before the start of the NFL season. This is a somewhat unprecedented situation and it remains to be seen whether there will be any shake-up in the coaching staff. So far Mr. Holloway's office has not responded to our request for comments.

Re: Detroit Lions: Ending the Drought in Motor City

Since the new owner is a Michigan man and not a MSU grad... I can support these new Lions. Best of luck, I'll be reading.
