1968-69 NBA/ABA Merger League (PS5)

Hey guys, I'm not ready to share these rosters yet, but I'm working on a 1968-69 roster that combines the NBA and ABA teams of that year. I will share updates as I make progress. I am aiming to have everything ready by year end.

Historically speaking, the NBA/ABA merger did not occur until 1976. However, the leagues were competing for players starting in the late 1960s, so I figured it would be a lot of fun to rewrite history with a combined league starting in 1968.

The idea here is to take control of your favorite team (or all teams) and play through the years to see how the league evolves. I plan to create draft classes from 1969 through 1983. If anybody wants to go beyond the 1983-84 season, I know Clutch is working on some very impressive draft classes starting with 1984 and moving forward.

-1968-69 NBA Roster (14 teams) 100% complete
-1968-69 ABA Roster (11 teams) 100% complete

-1968-69 NBA Uniforms/Courts (14 teams) 100% complete
-1968-69 ABA Uniforms/Courts (11 teams) 100% complete

-1969 NBA/ABA Combined Draft Class - 100% complete (may add more players later on)
-1970 NBA/ABA Combined Draft Class - 100% complete (may add more players later on)
-1971 NBA/ABA Combined Draft Class - 100% complete (may add more players later on)
-1972 NBA/ABA Combined Draft Class - 60% complete
-1973 NBA/ABA Combined Draft Class - 10% complete
-1974 NBA/ABA Combined Draft Class - 0% complete
-1975 NBA/ABA Combined Draft Class - 0% complete
-1976 NBA Draft Class - 0% complete
-1977 NBA Draft Class - 0% complete
-1978 NBA Draft Class - 0% complete
-1979 NBA Draft Class - 0% complete
-1980 NBA Draft Class - 0% complete
-1981 NBA Draft Class - 0% complete
-1982 NBA Draft Class - 0% complete
-1983 NBA Draft Class - 0% complete

-1969 Team/Court Redesigns - 100% complete
-1970 Team/Court Redesigns - 100% complete
-1971 Team/Court Redesigns - 100% complete
-1972 Team/Court Redesigns - 100% complete
-1973 Team/Court Redesigns - 100% complete

Thank you, Don. This has been a lot of work, but I have really enjoyed it. I have been plugging through more uniforms and courts this week.

I have gotten far enough to start running through a few seasons. It is a thrill to see where Kareem, Dr. J, and others get drafted.

I am still on track to get this finished up by the end of the year so that you have all of the draft classes and team redesigns for the first 5 seasons.

After that, I'll work on the late 1970s.

Do you have any favorite teams/players from this era?

bigdougswan,

Yes, I do ...... I started at LSU with Pistol Pete in '66 and saw him play on the freshman team a few times ...... I left LSU before the season was over to join the Marines. Thus, I am a huge Pete Maravich fan along with the New Orleans Jazz from the '70s.

I got NBA2K22(PS5) and it's basically resting on the hard drive awaiting your Masterpiece !

The ABA was a great and entertaining league. Anxiously waiting for you to upload.

Thanks for your work.

Re: 1968-69 NBA/ABA Merger League (PS5)

Thank you all for your patience. The share scenario should now be available on PS5. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

To get started, go to MyNBA > 2K Share Scenarios > Pick a slot for your save > Click triangle to search for online ID bigdougswan.

I am also putting together a document that details all of the team location changes, jersey changes, etc. All of the jerseys/courts I plan on doing for 1969-1973 are available by searching bigdougswan or bigdougswan2.

Draft classes will be continually updated throughout the next few months. For now, the 1969 class has already been pre-loaded into the scenario. You'll be able to find the 1970-73 draft classes uploaded as well.

I will provide this info in my upcoming user guide, but you'll need to manually change the name of the Kentucky team to Colonels and the Minnesota team to Pipers when you get started. I think we're all aware of some of the language restrictions 2K has in place for uploaded files.

Let me know if you have any questions or need help solving an issue.

Thank you for playing!

Is there a way to export player dna from your roster scenario? I have been looking for a good Jimmy Walker and Archie Clark. Also Warren Jabali.

Thanks for your work.

Hey KC, yes you can still jump into the roster within MyNBA mode and export data for any player. I can release the roster as well if people would like, but I don't think it's all that useful and I don't want people to miss all of the hard work I put in on the jerseys and courts.
