Really excited for this.* It helps that Vicarious Visions is developing it; not only did they do the recent Crash remake, but also developed the excellent THPS games on Game Boy Advance.

Yea, I could really see myself getting this at some point. I'm more partial to the Underground titles but these were a lot of fun too. Looks really good from the screenshots.*

As someone who did not play then back when (very much old enough to have), is this easy / enjoyable for a novice?

Oh yes, very easy to pick up and play. Quite a different game than the Skate series or Skater XL or Session. The Tony Hawk games are all about fun.

Playing this demo was absolutely an explosion of nostalgia for me. I immediately felt all of the muscle memory coming back to me as if I were a kid playing on PS1 again. I can't wait for the release!

Kind of weird that you have to pre-order to play the demo, don't you think? The whole point of a demo shouldn't be to play a part of the game early, but rather to get a taste as to decide whether or not you want to purchase the game. At least that's what it looks like on my end (PS4). Maybe Xbox is different with that? Not sure.

Anyway, from seeing other videos, the only thing I didn't like was how some of those flatland freestyle tricks (like the pogo) are just available to everybody, instead of being a special trick for somebody like the great Rodney Mullen.
