Lowlighthabit & CujoMatty's featuring BU1BU22 2019 SOTS Preseason Packs

A new year of MLB The Show is right around the corner which means it's time to get started on this years SOTS packs.

Q: What are these packs you speak of?
A: We do 2 packs, A preseason pack(starter pack) and A regular season pack. The packs are posted on a team by team basis when they are ready. We try and post them in a timely manner and within minutes of them being ready for public consumption they are posted so please don't fill the thread asking for ETA's. These packs contain walk up music, pitcher entrance music, network theme music and stadium sounds for all teams and most of the players on MLB rosters.

Q: What is the difference between the preseason packs and the regular season packs?
A: I'm glad you asked. The preseason packs are compiled of the last known music that was used last year and reorganized for roster changes this year. The purpose of it is so that people have packs to use when the game releases and so people don't have to wait for the regular season packs before they can enjoy SOTS. The regular season packs(located here:https://forums.operationsports.com/f...son-packs.html) are compiled of all the sounds that teams or players use this year. They are completed as we get information from community research. We appreciate any info posted in the thread but ultimately we rely on BU1B22 info as he is our research guru and fact checker. His research is what we ultimately use to create the packs. Because the regular season packs are reliant on research, they take more time. We usually have all teams done between 2 weeks and a month after regular season starts. That is reliant on how much time we have and I don't want to speak for Lowlight but I don't have as much as I used to so it might take longer.

Q: Will the packs be updated as the season goes on and players change music?
A: Obviously the preseason packs are final once the regular season starts. They will not be updated. We would like to update the regular season one's as much as possible but that's pretty reliant on Lowlighthabit and the time he has. I have enough free time to commit to these packs till the beginning to mid may so I can't really tell you what the plan for updates will be unfortunately. I would just say stay tuned and watch the thread for updates.

Please remember we do these packs for free and they are incredibly time consuming so please be respectful. I got involved with these for my love of baseball and my desire for authenticity. SOTS is always one of my favorite parts of The Show and I hope you all enjoy using our packs.

Big thanks to Lowlighthabit who has driven these packs to be the best they can be. BU1B22 who is the real hero doing the research with one hand on his TV remote and the other on Shazam. It really is brutal and his work is incredible. Thanks to the always marvelous OS community for their appreciation and suggestions.

Here is a tutorial video if you are interested in making packs.

Re: Lowlighthabit & CujoMatty's featuring BU1BU22 2019 SOTS Preseason Packs

Here are some tutorial videos lowlighthabit made on how to use different aspects of SOTS.

Cheers:https://youtu.be/Z7Cf9vVaN7M

Yells:https://youtu.be/Hdq7hci5bwE

Stadium Effects:https://youtu.be/iSXm2Qv0X6o

How to add files via USB:
On your CPU desktop right click and select new folder.
Rename that MUSIC
Take all the mp3 files you want to put in game (they have to be mp3s. Your ps4 will explode if they aren't) and drag them into the folder you named MUSIC. No sub folders just mp3 files.
Plug in usb
Drag the folder you named MUSIC into your USB
Disconnect USB and plug it into ps4
Start MLB the show 18
Find menu sounds of the show
Bottom right corner select manage music files.
Select import music
Wait for songs to upload.

How to add songs to play in the menus:
Select playlist Creator in the top middle
The songs you uploaded are on the left. Hit r1 or l1 till you see all the songs you uploaded which is probably under the "title" section. Hit dpad right and make sure it says jukebox additions l1 r1
Click dpad left to your songs you uploaded and find the songs you want to play in the menu. Click on them and they will add into window on right
Thats it they will now play randomly in the menus.

How to add player songs, team sounds:
Go to playlist Creator. Again hit r1 or l1 till you see all the songs you uploaded which is probably under the "title" section.
Right on dpad
Hit r1 it should now say music editor additions.
Hit dpad left and find the songs you want to add to each event or player. Click on them and they will be added to the right window.
You now have to add cues.
Go to music editor.
If you have files that you've downloaded from this site chances are each file has three songs on them so you have to set cues.
Lets say the music file you uploaded was called TOR Bautista, Donaldson, pillar. That means that file has all 3 players walk up music on the 1 file.
So select that and you would see green squiggly lines cut into three.
Hit dpad right
Mark1 which is red would be your first cue and in our example would be bautistas music. Chances are you can leave it because it's first but you can move the start point with l2 r2 or to fine tune you can move with r1 or l1.once you have that set hit dpad down to mark 2 the green one. That will be Donaldson's music. You want to move the green line with r2 or l2 to match were you want Donaldson's music to start. It should be where the green squiggly lines start in the middle. Once you've got Donaldson's start point set dpad down to mark 3 the blue line and use r2 to set pillars music.
Once you've done that for every file you can assign them.

Assigning player music
Select assign player audio bottom middle
R2 or l2 to the team down. For our example find toronto
Scroll down and find player. So for our example find bautista.
Click on the player.
Choose edit player
For batters select walk up music 1. Click
Scroll through the files till you find the track, again with our example, TOR Bautista, donaldson, pillar and click on it
A little menu asking which mark you want pops up and select. For our example bautista is mark 1.
Make sure you press start to save and exit out of the player edit.
you can have 3 different batter walk ups. Thw game chooses randomly which to play.
Same applies to pitcher relief entrance music. Follow same steps but obviously pick relief entry music 1 or 2 or 3 in the edit player section.

Assign team audio:
Same steps just go to assign team audio instead of assign player audio in main sounds of the show menu.
Biggest difference is in the team audio section you can select if the audio you assign has stadium or broadcast effect added to it with the triangle button. Stadium adds reverb(stadium echo) to make it sound like it's being played in a huge stadium.

I downloaded Arizona and Atlanta. Solid work man! It’s paired exactly to what I found in research. I updated my sheets to match the new pack

One little hint. I wouldn't worry too much about bit rates this year.

I'm ready to use SOTS for the 1st time ever even if I'm not new to MLBTS. It seems very time consuming to put everything in place within the game for each player/teams (can only imagine creating the files!!).

For more experienced users & out of curiosity... how long should it take to set up everything for a newbie like myself?

Thank you for your work!

It is pretty time consuming to set up. I’d say 15 minutes per team and probably only 10 minutes once you know what you’re doing.

I think the best way to do it and it’s what I do:
Set up the team you use right off the bat. Then I do whatever team I play next on the schedule. There is 2 good things that happen by doing it this way. 1. You aren’t doing all teams at once which would take hours. 2. By the time you actually need sounds for a team that pack may have been updated by us so you get the most current sounds.

Like many others who are somewhat new to OSFM, I really want to express my thanks to all the guys who do such an incredible job of making The Show as realistic as possible. Last year was the first time I discovered OSFM rosters and Sounds of the Show, and I was completely blown away by the incredible attention to detail.

I do have a question, though, and please forgive me if it's dumb -- once MLBTS19 comes out, do I need to delete all the SOS files I imported last season and import the new ones for it to play in this year's version of the game? I enjoyed importing and hearing SOS so much last year that I later started adding some of my own favorite songs into the mix and would pepper my favs into the game. However, at one point I got a message that I had maxed out on space ... So, I'm guessing I'll need to clean everything out first before updating 2019's SOS, am I right?

Thanks!

Everything deletes with the game files from 2018 so once 19 comes out if you delete 18 all the sounds will go with it.

You will have to redo all the sounds again for 19. The good news I’m guessing from SDS post in this thread is they added more room this year so you should plenty of space for extra sounds
