Ubisoft brings Winning Strategy to Sports Videogames

Ubisoft has the details.
"Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest videogame publishers, announces that it will be developing a series of sports titles, making its debut as a publisher of sports videogames. Its entrance will be propelled by several worldwide licensing agreements and acquisitions. Ubisoft has signed an exclusive license with Vijay Singh, the No.1 ranked golf player in the world, to produce a Vijay Singh-titled golf game. The company has also acquired the team sports assets from Microsoft Game Studios."
Thanks to scoop, for the scoop.

I just realized that EA owns part of Ubisoft, so would EA allow them to use the NFL in Fever? Hmm....

If EA owns some of Ubisoft think they would just send their MVP people over there to develope a baseball game for Xbox? That would be an insteresting way for EA to get back into baseball pretty much only screwing PS2 and GameCube owners with that Take Two/ MLB deal.

How exactly would that help the MVP franchise? Ubisoft is a 3rd party developer just like EA. Neither one can make a licensed baseball game next year.
