Can't argue with arbitrary criteria.

I hand collected my first set of Topps back in 1980 and I wanted the teams made up of players that I had actually seen and remembered playing. Being in my mid-40’s I don’t have much recollection of actually seeing either of the Robinsons play other than World Series highlights from the O’s glory days. It’s a shame the Orioles have never played a World Series game in Camden Yards. It’s a beautiful ballpark!

If you wanted to create your own Brooks or Frank Robinson it shouldn’t be too hard to generate the ratings using the ratings systems on the first page of the spreadsheet.

I jumped straight to the Orioles and didn't even see that. Nice work.

I might use your ratings to create the 1970 playoffs (Baltimore-Minnesota,AL: Cincinnati-Pittsburgh, NL).

Not sure how you use Rtot/yr and Rdrs/yr to determine fielding rating. What about if Rdrs/yr is not available?

PGLV was just for pitchers.

If Rdrs/yr wasn't available I just used Rtot/yr. I didn't use fielding percentage at all for position players because it varies so much from position to position. All position players started at 75 for Fielding and then I went +/- on Rtot/yr. For instance if someone's Rtot/yr was +5 they would get an 80 for fielding. If players played more than one position I used a combination of the ratings or sometimes with the position they played the most. Also, I only used the Rdrs/yr if I saw a significant difference between the two ratings.

Hope that helps!

What did you do regarding the pitches each pitcher has? Did you just select all or did you look through and determine the pitches each one threw in real life?
