At first I was worried this was going to be SMB2.5 because of the short time since SMB2, but they’ve really made some significant improvements. Can’t wait.

Yeah, I’m getting super excited for this. Honestly, the addition of an online customizable franchise is a huge draw. I liked playing the first two, but mostly dropped off.
For me, sports games are about online competition. Solo play was for practice and scouting. While one off games work in most sports, baseball only makes sense in a season of some sort, as you compete against teams that also gave to manage resource use over the course of a season.
I’ve started playing a ton of SMB2 in prep. It still astounds me just how dialed in and perfect the gameplay is from both strategic and pure fun points of view.
I don’t need MLB licenses, because they do a great job of not only creating what feels like a living world of players, but you can edit them however you want.
My plan is to try and start a small online league based on pop culture. Teams choose something pop culture reference they like, and name the players after characters and such.

This game has me so hyped. Still playing 2 and loving it. When you can set difficulty from 1-100 in 4 different skill areas its a new challenge everyday. Adding Franchise mode, makes my drool with excitement.

I can't wait. I only recently discovered SMB 2 and fell in love (and i've only played the demo)!. Can't bring myself to pay $30 for SMB 2, to turn around and pay $45 for SMB 3 a few weeks later.
I'm starting to really think through how I want to play the game. Generally in sports games I like to place myself, and maybe 1 or 2 others on a team. Then sprinkle other friends/public figures on other teams, to keep those teams interesting and give me something to look forward to in those matchups.
Always fun, and an interesting talking point to say, "man, I put Ash Ketchum on Arsenal in my season, and he lit us up today."
