Creating faces

I tried understanding what exactly was involved in importing faces from images for AO Tennis when it first came out, but could never figure it out. I was hoping AO 2 would have a more intuitive way of importing real pictures but it's the same thing. Could someone help me out with understanding how it's done? Maybe there's a video somewhere? I'm sorry but the instructions that come in the game folder are nowhere near understandable enough.
