SE Showdown Yr 1 Thread

Post all things related to the season in here. Schedule games, let me know when you're ready to advance. We will advance once everyone is ready and has done their recruiting. I'll set up schedules once everyone is in. Try to make them as close to real-life as possible.


Oh, and one more thing: read the rules! I want absolutely zero monkey business. No user catching on offense or defense, nano blitzing, spam/cheese/money plays, no reshifting a defensive player into a different spot (you can do this with one guy but you must control that player for the duration of that play), and realistic 4th downs.
I hate people who try to and get away this crap so if I hear one peep about you from another player, you will be warned. 2nd time, I will boot you. If you have proof, provide it. This is on the "honor system"- we're all grownups here.

Well, the dynasty was glitched, forcing me to restart it. Individual players sometimes disappeared (not unlike what happened to Oregon in the old league, for those in Version 1.0 of 3 Yards) and the game froze. I also think that removing UAB in favor of a teambuilder school also contributed but I can't be certain.

Clemson's bye weeks were terrible for scheduling and an imbalance was created. I think Texas A&M was originally slated to have 5 user games in year 1. I'm hoping for three, not 5. If the ACC Coastal getting crowded is a concern, you may leave for any other open ACC/SEC/ND school that you so wish at this time.

DON'T CREATE A COACH- USE AN EXISTING COACH WHEN YOU SIGN UP! Invites have been reissued and we will (once again) advance when all of your recruiting and redshirting is set up.

Been having freezing issues. Not sure why...if it happens to anyone else, let me know. I think it MAY be tied to me booting UAB and replacing them with teambuilder Georgia Southern. If the freezing glitch shows up for anyone, I will probably elect to restart it and keep UAB around.

With 5 ACC teams to 4 SEC teams currently, I am going to assign matchups as follows: (WF, Duke, U, FSU, VT)

Arkansas at Florida State (Week 3)
Miami at Tennessee (Week 7)
Duke at TAMU (Week 6)
Georgia at Va Tech (Week 3)

If an SEC team wants to double-dip (add an extra user game) with Wake Forest, I'm all ears. Everyone should have about 3-4 user games. SEC West teams may or may not get hosed with the SEC's unbalanced scheduling protected rivalries (Texas A&M vs South Carolina or Missouri vs. Arkansas, for example).

I'm trying to get Notre Dame on every ACC team's schedule as well.

User Games: Texas A&M at UGA
Byes: Duke (sorry, Scope)

I can't stress this enough- READ THE RULES!!!! ESPECIALLY if you play a fellow user. Keep them near you if you must. I have a low tolerance for monkey business. Yes, we all want to win, but let's do it in a sim style and manner.

1. No spam/cheese
2. No user catching on offense or defense (while the ball is in the air). If you are playing safety or DB or LB and the ball comes to you, then catch it. Don't switch to a guy mid-play to make a play on the ball. Let the ratings do their thing.
3. No moving multiple defenders pre-snap (shifts are fine). If you move a player out of his natural alignment, you MUST control that player for the duration of that play.


One more thing- I'm inclined to take the side of the person who initates user game scheduling. If you ignore this board and miss out on a user game, it's on you. I will usually grant extensions because life oftentimes gets in the way.

The dynasty appears to be working perfectly.

Miami up big at halftime in the Swamp.
Update: Miami dominates the Gators behind a stifling defense (37 rush yards, 3 TOs and a defensive TD) and a balanced offensive attack. Figures to be a long year for the Gators with an absolutely brutal schedule ahead of them. Brad Kaaya looks like the next great Miami QB.

Tennessee shocks #3 Oklahoma on the road with a 31-13 victory in Norman to start the year. Although the Vols forced 0 turnovers, they held the Sooners talented offense in check. Meanwhile, freshman Jalen Hurd is the real deal, running 34 times for 206 yards and 3 scores. Rocky Top
