Fire Pro Wrestling Returns...Got it again!

    Hey guys.

I recently got a PS2 again, and went and picked up Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. I've had it before, but this game is so awesome.

I just renamed all the roster, and have been playing a little bit the past couple of days.

It's so nice to be able to hit the Canadian Destroyer, Go to Sleep, and Styles Clash. This game rules.

Ya, I love that game. I've recently been playing the No Mercy (64) game on my computer with an old ROH vs TNA mod.

I think I might just have to pop in FPW today.

Where can you get No Mercy for the PC? I know that you can do all kinds of awesome mods on there for Japanese wrestlers, RoH wrestlers, etc, etc.

Also, is it only for PC, because I have a Mac?

If i remembered correctly it was just a rumor some one made up. Which totally sucks. Wouldn't mind having a FPW game on the next gen

Yeah, it would be nice on 360 or PS3, but I say it's worth having a PS2 for this one. I can understand people saying it is a little overrated, but I think it's such a fun game, to play, and also to just watch!

I don't think it's overrated at all, I love this game. But I am new to it as well so there you go.

Have you downloaded the WCW and ECW 98 packs from FPC?

              Sure brings back memories.

I just had an epic 2 out of 3 falls match with Eddy G VS Rey using a Halloween Havoc ring.

I would take 2D graphics and superior game-play and customization over SVR graphics any time.

The video for the WCW98 pack is shown here.

I don't have the internet on my PS2 or anything, so I can't download any kind of packs. But it's still fun.

I don't have a PS2 any more, but in your mind guys, what is it that makes FPW allegedly the best wrestling game ever?

What's so good about it? I'm not doubting it, I just really want to know, as I've never played it, and have no idea about the control system, etc.

IF *for some, a huge if* you can manage to master the controls, FPW can give you some of the best video game matches of all time. You do not absolutely dominate the CPU, but you can do enough cool stuff to keep it interesting.

Also, there are a great mix of wrestlers and if you hit a finisher, it's usually the end of a match. I think the FPW games just have so much more flow and pace of a wrestling match than any other game.

How do you get this stuff in the game? Can you buy a memory card or download a file and export it to a memory card that has all of this?

If so, I'm getting this game ASAP.

Re: Fire Pro Wrestling Returns...Got it again!

All you have to do is get a PS2 action replay, sharkport, etc and a USB drive.

You download the edit pack and then save it to the flash drive.

You then run the action replay program, transfer the save from usb drive to a memory card and that's it.

I have a WCW, WWF and ECW pack downloaded from 1998 complete with ring logos that I have been playing with.

The game has a steep learning curve, but once you get it, it is highly rewarded. Several of my matches lately have been surpassing the 25 minute mark.

Let me know if you need any more information.

I recommend checking out the FPC forums for more information.

PM me for a link as I can't post it as I am too new of a member.

The thing I like as well how the flow of a match between Rey and Eddy G is so much different from Goldberg VS Bret Hart.

I have also had so many epic matches where there have been kickouts of finishers so it is that dramatic effect that keeps me playing.

                            What is an action replay?

I've never heard of that. And is it a necessity for me to be able to put edit packs on my PS2?

Its a device so you can download saves from the internet and transfer them from your usb drive to the memory card.

You can probably get one at your local gamestop for $20 or on ebay like I did.

It is the only way I know of to get a save from the computer to a ps2.

The game is 100x better with edit packs because the default CPU logic isn't that good. You will see much better match results and variety with these packs. I'd recommend just picking one up it's worth it. I can direct you to all the edit packs after you get it if you do decide to go that route.

It is technically called action replay max drive. It looks like this:
