Best Pure Spectacle in WWE History?

I'm watching Rock/Cena, and I said on Twitter that while you can complain about the technical aspects of the match all you want, it might be the single best spectacle that WWE's ever put on.

So, I figured I'd make a thread.

Now, this isn't about the technicality of the match, this is about the moment. This is about the atmosphere and the stature of the participants.

As Cole just said as I'm watching this, it's about sort of the "big fight feel", not the actual match itself.

I'm not going to make a poll, because I'm bound to forget a lot, but I'll put a few others to you that come to mind:
-Rock/Hogan, Wrestlemania X8
-Hogan/Andre, Wrestlemania III

Now you go.

Hogan vs Warrior, Wrestlemania VI I believe. Unbelievable atmosphere, match, and crowd.

The moment that Hogan slammed Andre changed professional wrestling forever.

I can't really say any other exact moment has made as big of an impact for as long a period of time.

I'd put Hogan/Andre, Hogan/Warrior, Hogan/Rock, Austin/Rock at WM 17 and HBK/Taker 2 ahead of Rock/Cena.

IMO, the year long build to the match ended up being very disappointing. WCW did it right with Sting/Hogan as I couldn't wait to see them at Starrcade '97 where as I was just ready for Cena/Rock to be over with.

It may just be that I was a much bigger wrestling fan back then though.

Re: Best Pure Spectacle in WWE History?

Even Lesnar/Cena from Extreme Rules was more of a pure spectacle that Rock/Cena. The entrances killed some of the buzz for me w/ Rock/Cena, even though I still enjoyed it. But the brutality of the Lesnar/Cena encounter was a sight to behold, especially since we hadn't seen that kind of brutality on a regular basis during this era.

Hogan/Andre was probably the best, even though I wasn't around then that moment is the iconic one that even non-wrestling fans know about.

Hogan/Andre or Hogan/Warrior.

There is another I'd like to toss out there. While considered one of the best technical matches of all time I'd also include it as a spectacle...Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog Summerslam 1992. 80,355 in Wembley Stadium and Bulldog winning, plus the fact an IC title match main evented a major PPV.

Some of the legendary TLC matches of the past with The Hardyz, Edge and Christian, and The Dudleyz. Sick sick matches man.

Yea, I can't put Rock/Cena up there at all. Maybe it's just me, while I do recognize Cena as the face of the company and the torch holder since Rock/SCSA/HHH have left/backed off, I don't put him in the same category of Hogan/Warrior/Andre/Rock/SCSA. These guys were like by everyone, no matter the gender, race, or age.

Rock and Hogan from Wrestlemania was surreal. Something I thought I would never see and just one of those dream match ups.

Hogan slamming Andre?! Today, I still won't skip over it if it happens to be on a DVD I'm watching.

What I'll remember about Rock/Cena, the dumb *** interviews brought to us via satellite. No one took that match seriously, it didn't change anything, it was just......there.
