I haven’t ever watched AEW except for the night Punk debuted so I guess he could have improved since he left WWE, but how the **** is Moxley the #4 interview?

Looking at this more now that I have a few minutes.

…how did Reigns win best gimmick, come in second for wrestler of the year, and also come in second for most overrated?

eh, nevermind, not worth discussing awards voted on by people i don't interact with

should just do the OS wrestling awards and have us vote on them, have the same amount of meaning as these

We'd probably have a better balance of voters not influenced by one particular person or promotion.

i was more going for the fact that fan-voted awards from a small subsection of fans are meaningless, and it's wild to me that people spend time complaining about them.

Re: 2021 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards

I'm sure there are websites out there that would award WWE promotion of the year, think Raw is awesome, etc. Wrestling Observer readers just aren't that category. But it's not like they didn't vote WWE guys as wrestler of the year in the past, along with all the other awards. But when other promotions pop up, and WWE does very little to hang on to their audience, it's not surprising that you end with fans who vote this way.

I understood your point, big homie.

I was just stating we are all a (very) small subset of the wrestling audience, but our tastes probably vary more than the average Wrestling Observer listener/reader.

I was less complaining like I did last year and more giving context to (and mocking a bit) Meltzer's audience.

Ok, sure.......

My thing is no one is doing a great job of finding new or even lapsed wrestling fans. Not just the WWE.

Now, of course they are the market leader and have had the biggest losses as that leader.

And people have been anti - WWE for a really, really long time way prior to the establishment of AEW.

The difference is they've latched on to AEW and Meltzer has been singing their praises from nearly day one. But I'll just keep it moving....
