I was trying to break submission holds on the ps4 cant seem to do it pressing X seems to acclerate the hold for my opponent so is there other buttons to press bc im tapping out 2 mins into the match

You are just supposed to tap x really fast.

I'm having the exact same issue. No matter how fast or crazy I go on it the meter just keeps filling up and I tap immediately.

Are u talking about basic submission holds or finisher submissions? I've found finisher submissions to be impossible to get out of unless you're near the ropes.
