Jordan Drops 61 In Message To League
Jordan Lights Up Garden in 114-112 Win

He has that look in his eye to start the season. Michael Jordan watched a number of league stars like Kobe Bryant and Stephen Curry step up their games and on this night the ultra competitive Jordan answered them all. Jordan scored 61 points and the 1991 Chicago Bulls needed everyone of them in an entertaining game at Madison Square Garden.

Many feel the 1991 version of MJ is as good as it gets and many feel he will be the one to lead the league in scoring. Scottie Pippen added 14 rebounds in the win and BJ Armstrong had 5 steals.

"Did you really expect anything else from him?" said head coach Phil Jackson. "But we have work to do, we almost let this one get away."

The 1999 Knicks battled hard and made a comeback in this one only to come up two points short. Allan Houston lead the Knicks with 28 points and Marcus Camby had 12 rebounds.

The 1999 Knicks are now 1-1.
