Warriors Long Range Bombs Sink Spurs
Curry 9 Treys And 45 Points Make Statement

Many are not sure what to expect as this season tipped off and some of the best names and teams begin playing ball. There was no doubt however at Oracle Arena on Saturday night that the 2016 Warriors were out to prove a point.

The Warriors destroyed the 2014 San Antonio Spurs 121-92 and did it in a fashion that shines a light on the era they come from. Steph Curry hit 9 of 12 triples on his way to 45 points while the team as a whole shot 39 percent from the stripe.

"I was in a groove and my teamates kept finding me at the right spot." said Curry after the win. "We know its only one game, but did we feel a bit overlooked when people talk favorites. Well yes."

Greg Popvich even with Kawhai Leonard on this team who is known as a defensive stopper and still could not cool off the Warriors and showed his frustration. "We are going to have a long season if we do not prepare better and execute. I am embarrassed."

"Remember, its only one game" added Tony Parker.

Old Bulls Fill It Up Against Indiana
Theus 15 assists in coming out party

Reggie Theus is really going to like passing the ball to young Michael Jordan. Theus ran the show like a composer on opening night at Chicago Stadium dishing out 15 assists while Jordan threw down 30 points as the Bulls beat the 2013 Pacers in a high scoring game 128-124.

The Bulls were also aided by Artis Gilmore who always seems to shoot at a high percentage. Gilmore also had one of the highlights of the night when he blocked a Roy Hibbert dunk in emphatic fashion. Orlando Wooldridge also played well with 3 blocks and fouble digit scoring while Rod Higgins hit a big three pointer late in the game to secure a tight win.

"We are so much better then people think we are" says Theus after the win, "it really is fun to run the floor with these guyes."

Can a young Jordan compete for a scoring title? It will be hard to say, but a sharp shooting Reggie Miller scored 35 points in the loss with 4 three pointers. Miller and Paul George also looked good on the court as the Pacers surely have more to build on.

Webber Leads 4th Quarter Rally For Kings
Sacramento overturns 18 point deficit for win

It all looked like it was going to be the perfect opening night for the 2007 Warriors. They had the 2002 Kings frustrated and right where they wanted them up 18 points in the 3rd quarter and their stars like Baron Davis and Rick Barry silencing the California crowd.

Basketball can be a wirlwind sometimes, and the Kings came out a new team in the fourth quarter; one of belief and fortitude. Chris Webber lead the way with 34 points including two clutch shots with under a minuted to play. Sacramento outscored the Warriors 36-18 in the final frame with Vlade Divac adding 10 assists and alot of leadership.

"Sometimes we have to look at each other and determine we need to give more" said Divac, "thats what we did tonight. We do not want to leave the floor embarrassed even if we lose."

A Davis three pointer came up short as time expired and the Warriors now look to pick up the pieces, after dropping a game they were sure they had.

"On to the next one" says Stephen Jackson.

SEASON B

EAST

1. 2001 New Jersey Nets
Record: 52-30

Jason Kidd could move a basketball to the open man faster then anyone in his prime and his MVP like season with the Nets took this team to the brink. We have added longtime Net Derrick Coleman to the roster who will battle it out with Kenyan Martin and Keith Van Horne for coach Byron Scott. Size at the center position is a real hole so the Nets will want to up and run and shoot smart shots as rebounding could also be a challenge.

2. 2016 Cleveland Cavs
Record: 57-25

Could be the best of Labron James here who returned home and finally brought glory to Cleveland. james did it all and was assisted by up and coming star Kyrie Irving who especially stepped it up in the championship. Defeated the 73 win Warriors shows how determined and good this team can be. Kevin Love and JR Smith will need to be at their best while Matthew Dellavedova needs to pester opponents and keep offenses down. Can the King produce again for Cleveland?

3. 1996 Seattle Super Sonics
Record: 64-18

Basketball in Seattle was something special in the 90's with Gary Payton leading a team that made a habit of winning, none more then in 1996. George Karl played his unique brand of basketball and a force in the middle name Shawn Kemp made it happen. Hersey Hawkins was an underrated star and Detlef Schrempf showcased his versatile game. This team played defense better then most, and that will be key in this season. The Sonics are being picked as a sleeper by many.

4. 2005 Phoenix Suns
Record: 44-38

From outsider to contender. In to the mix comes Sir Charles. I made Barkley to be part of this process and he will play for a Suns team that really needs him. Barkley can take over games and is a character that demands attention on the court. Stephan Marbury and Penny Hardawy will make this team quick and Amare Stoudamire before his injuries will be a great duo with Charles. You have to love the Suns team that is put together for Frank Johnson. Many like them to go very far this season.

5. 1996 Chicago Bulls
Record: 72-10

Most would say truly the greatest team of all time. Now is the time for the Bulls to prove it and play with the biggest target on their back. With everything to lose Minchael Jordan takes his most talented roster on his back and looks to be the best of the best, even some of his own teams can be in his way from making that happen. Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen add to the hall of fame resume of this team while talents like Steve Kerr and Toni Kukoc should not be overlooked.

6. 1989 Cleveland Cavs
Record: 57-25

A quiet bunch that inst fancied by anyone but will try and compete with out the added spice. Mark Price and Brad Daugherty are as fundamentaly sound as you can find and Larry nance brings range and hops to the table. Dont let their low profile fool you, this Cavs team wont quit on Lenny Wilkens and if they can just avoid Michael Jordan, can actually win some games. Ron Harper and Steve Kerr are two future Bulls that are young and able to help in Cleveland.

7. 1998 LA Lakers
Record: 61-21

The Lakers came to life again in 1998 and it was due to the investment in the Big Fella Shaq as well as a skinny kid from Philadelphia named Kobe. These were the early days of a dynasty but the talent and edge is there. Eddie Jones is also still much better then you rememberwhile Robert Horry and Nick Van Exel know a thing or two about knocking down big shots. Del Harris has a chance to take this team places if he can funnel the imaturity.

8. 2019 Milwaukee Bucks
Record: N/A

Giannis brought home his MVP as the Bucks with his emergence had the best record in the NBA. The Greek Freak can play all over the court and his inside strength can be underrated. The Bucks add Kris Middleton and Brooks Lopez to a team that usually has great chemistry and poise. Still not having won anything, hard to see the Bucks taking things very far.

9. 1999 New York Knicks
Record: 27-23

After a strike shortened average regular season, the Knicks went on a run and made it back to the NBA Finals. Patrick Ewing wasnt even the biggest factor on this team with Allan Houston and Latrell Sprewell playing some of their best ball. Larry Johnson post injury still could hit a big shot and Marcus Camby came on as a true defensive force. If they do get something from the big guy, this Knicks team will not be a pushover and should be monitored.

10. 2011 Chicago Bulls
Record: 62-20

A small window for this team to be great before injuries did them in. Derrick Rose wins the MVP at 23 years old and such young stars like Joakim Noah and Lual Deng help compliment them. Carlos Boozer will need to keep his scoring going and the Bulls may need some more outside shooting, but the magic was there for one season. With injuries off, it will be very interesting to see how well a full blown DRose can do against the very best.

11. 1986 Boston Celtics
Record: 67-15

Legends everywhere you look on the parqay of Boston Garden. Larry Bird and Kevin McHale lead a team that bleeds green and won for almost a decade strong. The Celtics just do it all and Robert Parrish is another name that wont be denied in the middle. Dennis Johnson adds fine defense and Bill Walton a real surge of ebergy off the bench; KC Jones and Red Aurebach have to be happy with their chances. In any event, just to watch Larry Bird play again should be something magnificent.

12. 2002 Sacramento Kings
Record: 61-21

A team that really deserved better, this Sacramento team had their chances dashed by the mighty Lakers. Chris Webber dominated as a talent rarely seen at this time while Mike Bibby and Doug Christie were perfect for compliments. Adding European flair in sharp shooter Peja Stojakovic and Vlade Divac, the Kings just keep coming at you. The best Kings team there ever was, it will be interesting to see how their agile unselfish play corolates against modern teams especially.

SEASON A

SEASON A WEST

1. 2008 Denver Nuggets
Record: 50-32

Any team that has Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson on the same side is sure to put up some numbers, the question is of course who will do everything else? Marcus Camby is a big body desperately needed and Kenyon martin bring toughness but the back court is thin and the bench is light. The odds on who takes the most shots on this team may be the most interesting thing to watch, doubtful that this Nuggets team will compete very much.

2. 1985 Milwaukee Bucks
Record: 59-23

The addition of Jack Sikma to this roster make this a good group as Terry Cummings and Alton Lister already bring some punch. Sidney Moncrief and Paul Pressey will be fun to watch for a Bucks team that really has nothing to lose and that Don nelson will allow to play its own way. Somehow there is a feeling that this team of under appreciated talent could become an upset maker.

3. 2019 Philadelphia 76ers
Record: N/A

The modern 76ers are only getting better with some real talent that is coming into its own. Joel Embid and his athletic ability should be fun to watch go up against the alltime best. Ben Simmons is a tough cookie for any opponent and Tobias Harris is sure to impress. This 76ers team wants to prove that it is a championship caliber side and that their youthful skill anfd style will frustrate any opponent. They will be fun to watch.

4. 1991 Portland Trail Blazers
Record: 63-19

A true 90's era type team that had muscle sorounding a star. Buck Williams and Jerome Kersey had size and agility while Kevin Duckworth had double the size and half the agility. Still these unique players were all supporting Clyde Drexler who has this team to prove that he is one of the greats. If Drexler could get some outside support from Drazen Petrovic who can be considered among the greatest shooters to take the court. Terry Porter and Danny Ainge add depth. many can see this team making a playoff run.

5. 1971 Milwaukee Bucks
Record: 66-16

The great Kareem will be joined by Oscar Robertson and those two alone are worth taking a close look at this team. The Bucks only lose 16 games on their way to a championship and they dont plan on laying down for anyone here. Simply put, Kareem wins whereever he plays and his talent in his prime make him an MVP candidate. The team does have lack of depth and some wholes in the shooting department, but to slow things down and play their style, the Bucks will look to their two Hall of Fame stars.

6. 2013 Miami Heat
Record: 66-16

Another seemingly hated team but another of the all time best. The three headed monster of this Heat era lead by an im prime LaBron James can not be downplayed. Chris Bosh was the compliment and Dwayne Wade was superstar 2.0. This Heat team in truth made it look easy and in many ways changed the pendulum from an owner centered peague to a player centered one. Be aware, because this team is that talented but at times gives something up when the going get tough.

7. 2007 Washington Wizards
Record: 41-41

Rod Strickland was added to this roster for some depth and this Wizards team is going to need it. Gilbert Arenas can get hotter then anyone in a James Harden type of way but the mental toughness to win may be lacking. This overall is an average team that didnt in anything. Antawn jamison and Caron Butler are no nonsense players but Etan Thomas and Brendan hayward may be well in over their heads. For all intent and purposes this team isnt going anywhere.

8. 2000 Portland Trail Blazers
Record: 59-23

A very deep and very talented team, the Blazers put together a run that almost dethroned the Lakers. Scottie Pippen and Detlef Schrempf know something about winning and Arvydas Sabonis was a once in a generation type of talent that can not be ignored. Young Bonzi Wells anmd Jermain O'Neal add energy and truly this Blazers team isnt missing much of anything. Just like many teams you forgot about, the Blazers are here to compete and beat the team you thought was great.

9. 2007 Golden State Warriors
Record: 42-40

There are few players like Rick Berry in the history of the game, and on one of the weakest of teams, we are getting him on a roster. Barry is the classic all around forward who will team up with Baron Davis and make this team go. Al Harrington and Jason Richaredson have somne holes in their games and the depth falls off like a rock from there. Berry should help. built one wonders why the 2K folks picked this team to run with.

10. 1993 Chicago Bulls
Record: 57-25

The three peat was coined here as MJ and the Bulls reached the pinnacle of their DNA as a team. Phil Jackson had this team believing in itself under any conditions or opponents withc such stars sorounding Jordan like Horace Grant and Scottie Pippen. The Bulls found a way as the biggest of stars learned to distribute the ball and the result was soon winning. So which of the great Jordan team's was the greatest, chances are all of them are going to give us a chance to find out.

11. 2019 Los Angeles Clippers
Record: N/A

Paul George and Kawhi Leonard lead a team that hopes its legacy is ahead of it. Leonard has already proven his championship heart and now with paul George, he has his Robin to try and defeat the rest of the Jokers in the league. Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley will need to step up their games and Doc Rivers will need to adjust his teams mentality in many of these physical battles. The Clippers may just be the very best of the modern teams, and dont be surprised if they finally bring some glory to this name.

12. 2008 Houston Rockets
Record: 55-27

Few players are as dynamic, popular, and fundamentally sound then the great Yao Ming. It is a shame Ming never really played for a winner but this particular team does bring some intrigue. Tracy mcGrady is in his prime and has the moves and the perimiter J to almost score on anyone. Luther Head and Shane battier may have been better college players then the real thing and now will be asked to take it even a level higher. Can Ming bring this team some glory, it is really a mystery to predict how well they will compete.

13. 2001 Los Angeles Lakers
Record: 56-26

A dynasty is how you would describe this team and evidence what can happen when to of the very best to ever play, friends or not, play together on the court. Other role players like Rick Fox and Robert Horry are vital to the direction of this team, but Kobe and Shaq make this team one of the favorites for the ultimate crown. Will chemistry be a factor for this team? Will Shaq hit his free throws? And who takes the big shot? My vote on the latter is Robert Horry.

14. 2014 Los Angeles Clippers
Record: 57-25

Another team that is much better then you think they are. Blake Griffith is a physical force on a basketball court and Chris Paul can be considered a basketball genius. Add Deandre Jordan to the mix as well as the outside touch of JJ Redick and what exactly is this team missing? Even old vet Antawn jamison is on this roster and Doc Rivers is represented again with an interesting job on his hands. This team as mentioned has loads of talent but may be lacking that something more, the attitude and confidence of a great team.

15. 2004 Minnesota Timberwolves
Record: 58-24

Kevin Garnett much like Allen Iverson almost carried a team to glory all on his own, but the mountain will be much steeper in this league. Garnett in his prime could do it all and played with a contageous passion. Coach Flip Saunders knew the game bette then most and got the most of this roster. Sam Cassell along with Wally Szczerbiak have the perimiter while Latrell Sprewell tries to stay consistent. The team lacks a real quality big man, and often KG is pushed to center duty. Things may be too tough for this bunch, but any roster with Mark madsen and Fred Hoiberg is definately worth a look right?

16. 2000 Toronto Raptors
Record: 45-37

Playing above the rim was taken to a whole new level as Vince Carter and Tracy McCrady came onto the scene and made rims suffer. The show was there but the substance for Butch Carter may have been missing. Charles Oakley and Mugsy Bouges bring veteran leadership while Dell Currry and Doug Christie are important role players. Still to see this Raptors team compete is likely a stretch, but as they say the show always must go on.

17. 2019 Houston Rockets
Record: N/A

James harden truly turned himself into one of the best scorers in league history. His step back offense and isolation skills are silly at times and age like fine wine. in comes the tequila punch of Russell Westbrook and the formula is surely one to ignite. The Rockets have the big two guns but it is time for Clint Capela and PJ Tucker to step it up at the biggest stage. The modern game surely has alot to offer and this team and its style are indicative of where the game has gone. Paul Westphal would be proud of these boys, but not to worry, Mike Dantoni is too.

18. 1989 Chicago Bulls
Record: 47-35

Build it and they will come. This Bulls team was in the growing stages of a champion but the legend of Jordan always gives a team a chance. The Bulls were indeed putting together still under Doug Collins and the likes of brad Sellers and Will Perdue still taking up space. Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant allow this team to play tight sound defense and then allow the likes of Craig Hodges to shoot the lights out surounding the excellence of 23. This Bulls team isnt great, but Jordan is.

Season A

EAST

1. 2001 Philadelphia 76ers
Record 56-26

This is Allen Iverson's chance to shut the critics up and show just how good he is. AI will surely put this team on his shoulders and will have one goal carry this Sixers team into the playoffs and beyond. Larry Brown will try and compliment Iverson with the likes of Toni Kukoc and Eric Snow. Dikembe Mutombo and Aaron mcKie bring some much needed defensive grit to the floor.

2. 2005 Phoenix Suns
Record: 62-20

Steve Nash had an MVP season and was at the top of his game with this team, it will be interesting to see how he does in a division matching up with Allen Iverson. Amare Stoudemire and Shawn marion expect to clean the glass for this team while Jim Jackson and Quentin Richardson bring consistency. Fun to watch this team run in the desert.

3. 1995 New York Knicks
Record: 55-27

Rugged and ready for a tussle, this Knicks team relies more om muscle and defense then on talent. In contrast their talented center Patrick Ewing would rather should then fight but the Knicks have had a tendency to choke in big games. Pat Riley thinks his team is deep enough to complete and the guard play lead by Derek Harper, Greg Anthony and Doc Rivers should be key. Knicks will provide two things for sure, attitude and John Starks ill advised shots.

4. 1986 Chicago Bulls
Record: 30-52

The worst team in all the field this Chicago team will hope it can avoid triple teams in getting young Michael Jordan the ball. Jordan will have the lead the league in scoring to have any chance to make this team even competitive among the giants. It is more that this Chicago team is here for show more then anything, as Dave Corzine and
Kyle Macy arnt going to make anyone lose sleep.

5. 1991 Los Angeles Lakers
Record: 58-24

One last chance at showtime this was the last great laker team lead by Magic Johnson and even as age crept in with some of the known names like Worthy and Scott, Serbian center Vlade Divac brings in some much needed life. With no injuries in our season this team should be much better then people expect, there is a harmony of winning here throughout this roster.

6. 2016 Golden State Warriors
Record: 73-9

The best record in NBA history and a true dynasty, it will be fun to watch how well the Warriors can do against different eras and styles. Probably anyone who tries and shoots with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are going to end up regretting it while Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut will try to hold their own against the best. A team that changed the way the game is played will have a ton of coaches and players gunning for them. Surely the Warriors will be locked and loaded for the assault.

7. 2014 San Antonio Spurs
Record: 62-20

A Spurs team that made the Labron Heat look like children, this team could be a sleeper to go deep. Kawhi Leonard as a defensive stand out could shutdown anyone in the league and Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli still have something left in the tank. Maybe the depth this team lacks is something to worry about, but Greg Popovich knows the names on this roster spellout winning in every shape and form.

8. 1965 Los Angeles Lakers
Record: 49-31

The Laker team with one of the best backcourts in the league with both Jerry West and Elgin Baylor in their primes. Baylor was as dynamic a player of the era well ahead of his time and West could really fly high with a three point line. The roster is very thin however and it will be very tough to see how this team will last 48 minute games or a long season. Look for great moments from this team but not necessarily wins.

9. 1997 Miami Heat
Record: 61-21

A much better team then you may remember this Heat side put it all together and won 61 games. Alonzo Mourning was playing like a Hall of Famer and Tim Hardaway still had something left in the tank. Dan Majerle and Jamal Mashburn add depth and points to a team that really changed south Florida for the first time. Sasha Danilovic is another name you may want to keep an eye and ear out for as well.

10. 1995 Orlando Magic
Record: 57-25

A team that did not live up to its promise but for one moment it appeared that they could take over the NBA. With a young Shaq and Penny the team also ushered in a new era into the game that was perfect for the 1990's. Dennis Scott could light it up and Horace Grant knew a thing or two about winning that made this team dangerous. They were the only team to knock out Michael Jordan from a playoff series in the span of his title runs.

11. 2012 New York Knicks
Record: 36-30

Linsanity has made it into our league and this may have been the last Knicks team to really catch the city by storm. Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire provide star talent of differing styles but the emergence of Lin gave the team something more. Tyson Chandler can clean the glass and Baron Davis is there if a big shot ever needs to be drained. Mike Dantoni will run this team into the ground and a short season in 2012 played a part in their success.

12. 2011 Dallas Mavericks
Record: 57-25

A championship team that wont be forgotten in Texas lead by Dirk Nowitzki who plays like no other 7 footer you have ever seen. Jason Kidd kept the offense going and hidden talents like Caron Butler and JJ Barea gave this team the keys to winning it all. If your looking for a weakness on this team, you are looking in the wrong place, this team has almost everything and Mark Cuban made sure of it. The Mavs should be a cinch to make the playoffs.

13. 1972 New York Knicks
Record: 48-34

The legend of Willis Reed and the last champion to play in the Garden seems like it will always live on. Walt Frazier is the perfect floor leader for a cool smooth team like the Knicks of this era. Earl Monroe and Jerry Lucas add even more character to this side and the hippie like Phil Jackson may not have the talent, but has the intagibles. A truly legendary team from New York, does anyone really expect them to be dull to watch?

14. 1994 Houston Rockets
Record: 58-24

A window where this team won back to back titles and the best player in the league. Hakeem truly was unstoppable for these teams and outclassed the likes of Shaq and David Robinson. It will be amazing to see the Dream go up against the likes of Jabaar, Chamberlain, and Russell.Kenny Smith and Sam Cassell compliment Vernon Maxwell very well while a young Robert Horry already has the clutch gene. This is a true championship team, that no one will not be a welcomed opponent for anyone.

15. 2006 Memphis Grizzlies
Record: 49-33

The Grizzlies dont have the deepest history in the league but this team did have a respectable season. Pau Gasol as a young center could do it all including pulling the big men out of the paint to guard him. Mike Bibby and Damon Stoudamire may not be the best back court around and their age could be a factor. This team also going far or making the post season really isnt in the cards. Memphis enjoy the great visiting teams coming through town.

16. 2019 Los Angeles Lakers
Record: N/A

Anthony Davis and Lebron James lead a Laker tean that is playing more on expectation then on result. Still there is no doubt that AD is one of the most talented big men this game has seen and his partnership with a veteran James should be interesting. How Dwight Howard and Rosan Rondo fit in will also be fun to watch. A new era in Laker basketball as well as a new era in the Kings legacy. Its anyones guess how well this team will play.

17. 1989 Detroit Pistons
Record: 63-19

Few teams have the reputation of the Bad Boys, the Pistons will slap their own kid to assure that they get the job done. Maybe the most disliked team in history, Bill Laimbeer and Dennis Rodman leading the boos. Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars work well together and watch for the mid range games of Vinnie Johnson and mark Aguire. The toughest of competitors, Chuck Daly will make sure his team has the right chemistry and intangibles to play against anyone with the belief of winning.

18. 1994 Denver Nuggets
Record: 42-40

The upset makers, the Nuggets and Dikembe Motombo feel that no mountain is too high to climb. The only 8 seed to win in league history bigger and more talented teams beware. Abdul Rauf cane get hotter then anyone while Reggie Willimans and Laphonso Ellis seek consistency. Of course it could also get ugly for the Nuggests, the talent level they are up against is no where near what they are putting on the court overall.

Finally a way to decide who is the greatest. From Jordan to James to Jabaar, who or more specifically what team is the greatest to have ever played? Two 35 game season will be contested with all classic teams and six modern teams included, a total of 72. Where glaring classic players are missing I will create them. Each separate season will have a playoff and the champions of both season will play in the ultimate NBA Finals. There are no excuses, the talk is over...
